POSE LESS ON YOUR WEDDING DAY Let’s face it. About 99% of us don’t like having our photo taken. Even I’m scared when a camera gets turned on me! To combat this, I photograph every wedding with a very journalistic approach… Journalistic or ‘Wedding Photojournalism’ is a very trendy and over-used word, but in many cases its meaning is lost. It essentially means documenting your day as it naturally happens. No posed photos or forced emotions, no being scared stiff when a large camera is wielded about your face, but more genuine moments of interaction and engagement between yourself, your friends and your family that tells a story of your day for years to come. This style is strongly influenced by street and reportage photography legends who shot black and white film, telling a story how it really was, and resulting in a truly timeless image. In contrast to the above that, I do offer some creative direction during the location shoot — but in a very relaxed and fun way. We’ll visit a set of great locations with just yourselves and the bridal party. We can also pull out the portable flashes, so we can control the lighting regardless of the weather, it’s kind of like taking a mini studio to your favourite places to get those special photos.
