Riva Group is Italy's largest steel producer and the fifth biggest player in the European steel industry. Founded in 1954 by Emilio Riva, a pioneer in postwar Italian steel, the Group has specialised in the manufacturing of “long” products using electric arc steelworks, and in 60 years of business it has achieved an international leadership, expanding in the main European countries, thanks to high production standards and to a focused and steady strategy of growth and investments. Chaired by Claudio Riva since May 2014, the Group is privately owned and employs almost people, with an increasingly qualified presence of high school and university graduates. Sideralloys Italia Spa

La SiderAlloys Italia Spa, costituita nel febbraio del 2018, ha acquisito il complesso industriale “ex Alcoa” di Portovesme, sito nel comune di Portoscuso (SU), con lo scopo di riavviare la produzione di alluminio primario, unico stabilimento presente nel territorio Italiano. Il progetto consiste nel rinnovare un impianto obsoleto con nuove tecnologie e a minor impatto ambientale. Il complesso stabilimento SiderAlloys Italia può essere suddiviso in macroaree: Rodding: dove gli anodi collegati mediante inghisaggio a dei conduttori elettrici (aste e nippli anodici) vengono inviati alla sala elettrolisi per il loro utilizzo. Conversione: costituito da una complessa rete di cabine elettriche di trasformazione che converte l’energia elettrica alternata in corrente continua necessaria per il funzionamento del reparto Elettrolisi. Sala Elettrolisi rappresenta il cuore dello stabilimento e attraverso un processo elettrochimico-endotermico, le celle elettrolitiche, formate da anodo-catodo-bagno, danno origine all’alluminio liquido. Ricostruzione/Demolizione celle è il reparto dove vengono ricostruite le celle di elettrolisi una volta finito il ciclo di vita in esercizio. Legato alla ricostruzione celle vi è il reparto demolizione celle, dove terminato il ciclo di vita tecnica, le celle vengono scisse tra parti non più riutilizzabili e quelle che, dopo manutenzione, possono essere reimpiegate. La Fonderia e l’impianto Vergella Properzi trasformano l’alluminio liquido proveniente dal reparto Elettrolisi miscelato con alluminio solido acquistato sul mercato, in prodotti ad elevato valore aggiunto destinati al mercato dei Profilati Estrusi (Billette), dei Laminati (Placche per laminazione), dell’ Automotive ed Industriale (Pani in leghe speciali) e Applicazioni Elettriche e Meccaniche (Vergella in Colata continua).
