Live Well
Live Well is a Non-profit organisation with a vision to improve the management of diabetes in Cameroon, reduce mortality due to uncontrolled Diabetes and decrease its prevalence. A multidisciplinary team approach towards the management of type 2 diabetes has been found to present better health outcomes. However, this is often affected by the efficiency of communication between health professionals, and available resources of a healthcare system. Absence of these can hinder quality patient care. The increasing prevalence of diabetes in Cameroon presents a huge challenge because dietitians, who should form part of the disciplinary team are oftentimes not integrated into the healthcare system at hospitals and clinics. Therefore people with diabetes are forced to seek assistance from private practicing dietitians, who can be expensive for the everyday Cameroonian. With the lack of easy access to dietitians, high medical bills and stigma attached to diabetes in Cameroon, people resort to traditional remedies, which are not always effective and can be dangerous. Moreover, healthcare providers in hospitals and clinics are often overworked with a high patient load, providing little time for an in-depth dietary intervention plan. Our mission is to empower people with sound evidence based dietary guidelines for the management of diabetes, using culturally available foods. We aim to achieve this through advocacy for the inclusion of dietitians in diabetes management, telephone or in person dietary coaching and preventative healthcare initiatives.

The Informed Mothers
The Informed Mothers is a women-led public health initiative based in Cameroon, focused on promoting women’s health literacy through education and advocacy using a life-course approach. In many communities, women and girls grow up uninformed about their bodies, unsure of their rights, and afraid to ask questions about their health. Cultural silence, limited access to healthcare, overstretched health systems, and gender bias often leave women’s symptoms overlooked, their pain minimized, and their autonomy compromised. We believe women’s health is a fundamental human right. And when these rights are denied or ignored, women’s health suffers. Sometimes silently, sometimes fatally. The Informed Mothers exists to change this reality. Through three structured thematic series that reflect the different stages of a woman’s life, we ensure women and girls are not only informed about their bodies, but empowered to advocate for themselves and demand respectful, ethical care at every stage: • #InformedGirlhood • #InformedMotherhood • #WholeWomanHealth We envision a future where every woman and girl in Cameroon has the knowledge, autonomy, and support to make informed decisions about her health — and where that knowledge shapes the research, advocacy, and policy conversations that affect her life. We welcome partnerships, collaborations, and support for our advocacy work. Email: theinformedmothers@gmail.com

Health And Empowerment For All Foundation Heefa
At HEEFA, we envision a world where health and empowerment are universal, not privileges. Our foundation was born from a deep need to bridge gaps in healthcare access and to give individuals the tools, knowledge, and opportunities to take control of their lives. We proudly align our work with the Sustainable Development Goals: • SDG 1 – No Poverty: “A future where poverty is not just reduced, but redefined—where every person, regardless of background, is empowered with the tools, choices, and resilience to thrive beyond survival.” • SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being: “A world where health is not a privilege but a promise—where every life is nurtured by accessible care, mental well-being, and the freedom to live fully and fearlessly.” Our mission is bold yet simple: to create a world where health and human dignity are basic rights, not luxuries. We believe that when people are healthy, supported, and empowered, they can break the cycle of poverty and drive lasting change in their communities. Driven by compassion, equity, and action, we are committed to creating real impact, empowering individuals, and rewriting what’s possible—together.

Healthy Lifestyle Foundation
The Healthy Lifestyle Foundation (HELIF) is a Cameroonian non-profit organization dedicated to combating chronic diseases—diabetes, hypertension, heart disease—through preventive care and evidence-based lifestyle medicine. Founded in 2017, HELIF addresses a critical gap in our healthcare system: the focus on treatment rather than prevention. While Cameroon has hospitals to treat emergencies, too many people discover they are sick only when it's too late—or much more expensive to treat. We believe there is a better way. Our mission is simple: promote healthy living and preventive care before people get sick. Today, HELIF reaches more than patients annually across Cameroon's Southwest Region through: • Community health screenings in markets, churches, and neighborhoods • School wellness programs teaching children lifelong healthy habits • Workplace wellness partnerships with local businesses • Health education on nutrition, physical activity, and stress management Our team is multidisciplinary—doctors, nurses, nutritionists, and community health workers united by one belief: prevention works. Beyond direct services, we advocate for patient rights and health policies that prioritize prevention. We believe everyone deserves access to care that stops sickness before it starts. Health is the foundation of everything. You can't build businesses, support families, or pursue dreams if you're not healthy. HELIF exists to ensure the communities we work with—founders, families, farmers—have the health they need to live fully. Join us. Partner with us. Let's build a healthier Cameroon together.#PreventionFirst #LifestyleMedicine #PublicHealth #Cameroon #NonProfit
