The Waniati Maternal Waiting Home was founded in 2020, with a vision to serve the pregnant mothers of the rural and outer urban areas of Goroka, in the Eastern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea. Our programs aim to combat maternal mortality, as well as providing postnatal services, empowering survivors of all forms of violence, promoting active participation in socio-economic activities, and fostering the spiritual well being of those in our care. We hope it will serve as an inspiration, encouraging others within our communities to similar work and support, while also acting to strengthen and grow our association. Png Snakebite Partnership
The Papua New Guinea (PNG) Snakebite Partnership, consisting of the National Department of Health, Seqirus Pty Ltd, the Australian High Commission, and St John Ambulance PNG, aims to significantly enhance snakebite management in PNG. This initiative combines the annual donation of 600 vials of antivenom with a specialised cold-chain distribution system, incorporating product management and data collection. Additionally, the partnership provides training and education for health workers to ensure effective treatment and care.
