Build Business Initiative Leading Development
BUILD (Business Initiative Leading Development) is a unified voice of the private sector representatives of Bangladesh. It was born in October 2011 out of strong, timely emphasis on private sector led growth targeted through Vision 2021 and the Sixth Five-Year Plan of the Government. BUILD acts as the bridge that connects the private and public sector for better communication, coordination and collaboration in bringing reforms to improve the country's investment climate. BUILD is a joint initiative of the IFC-managed and DFID and EU-funded Bangladesh Investment Climate Fund, Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and SME Foundation. BUILD features public-private dialogues on four thematic areas – SMEs, Tax, Financial Sector, and Trade & Investment – backed by rigorous analysis and advocacy. The initiative has received commitment from the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Industries, Bangladesh Bank, and National Board of Revenue to co-chair these Working Committees. BUILD is supported by a strong independent Secretariat that undertakes much of the analysis and advocacy to support the dialogue process, and assist in ensuring that BUILD develops specific, measurable and results-based recommendations for the Government to implement. BUILD has been focusing on issues faced by the SMEs – lifeblood of Bangladesh economy – since its inception. Its focus will be on making it easier, faster and cheaper for them to do business.

Icma Nsu Student Chapter
ICMA North South University Student Chapter has been Bangladesh’s 1st Asian Student Chapter working with local government with high defined professionalism and code of conducts and doing well also in terms of extra-curriculum platforms. Every year ICMA NSU does a commitment to arrange competitions, conferences, boot camps and other occasions that not only brings out the greatest talent among our student fraternity but also, owing to NSU’s stature in society and its wide spreading reach, help any associated companies and firms to stamp their corporate image on the greater masses. The ICMA NSU student chapter hopes to create a milestone in city management. The chapter has set targets for starting events and projects on city problems and possible solutions. The headquarters of this programme is located in Washington, DC. Currently, thirty people are working on research on the localisation of Chinese Company at Bangladesh with Yunnan University of China. It is now affiliated with Municipal Association of Bangladesh.

The General Economics Division (GED) is one of the six divisions of the Planning Commission and is headed by the Member. This division, like other technical/sector divisions, provides secretarial assistance to the Planning Commission and to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) and the National Economic Council (NEC) in all matters relating to plan preparation and formulation of economic policies. The principle function of this division is to oversee the overall economic policy-making and economic affairs of the country.
