The Center for Local Governance and Research was formed by former parliamentarians who having worked closely and extensively on local governance matters including policy, legislation and operation, felt the need for focus from outside of the government on this vital and pervasive subject. At a time when earlier power structures and work culture is being replaced by the new to adjust to the new national governance set up, how local governance and the actors involved influence the evolution of public space and culture of partnership must receive foremost attention. To this end, we aspire to contribute in this important development in the country and enrich the conversation.
