The Common Wadden Sea Secretariat (CWSS) supports and coordinates the work of the Trilateral Wadden Sea Cooperation (TWSC) representing the three Wadden Sea countries Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands. CWSS is committed to strengthening the ONE Wadden Sea World Heritage in a changing world. To achieve this, we are closely working across borders with stakeholders from science, management, policies, and the economic sectors to address the challenges this unique ecosystem is facing. Our focal areas include, but are not limited to - Support for the Wadden Sea Board as the TWSC’s governing body in preparing, adopting and implementing the Wadden Sea Plan and new policies and strategies- The Trilateral Monitoring and Assessment Programme and Quality Status Reports provides information on the status of the ecosystem for management purposes- The Single Integrated Management Plan supports management actions linked to ongoing and future challenges - The Partnership Hub aims to create new opportunities and strengthen existing collaborations- Various Expert groups, Tasks groups and Network groups provide expert advice on ongoing and new developments in the Wadden Sea- International collaborations: Marine World Heritage Programme, Wadden Sea Flyway Initiative, Wadden Sea Seal Agreement, EU-funded projects, MoUs with global wetland sites New threats require new solutions, and we continue to adapt our work to emerging challenges. CEMUNE knows that solving the world’s biggest sustainability challenges demands the world’s best negotiators: those equipped with the professionalism and knowledge required to achieve success in multilateral processes. We support policymakers with the knowledge, skills and advice they need to reach transformative global sustainability agreements and work with businesses and other stakeholders to translate these agreements into ground-level actions. Collaboration is not just the most effective strategy to address the world's pressing environmental challenges; it’s our only option. Our Story: CEMUNE was forged in the aftermath of the failed 2009 global climate change conference in Copenhagen. Dr. Kai Monheim, an expert in multilateral negotiations, observed that many negotiators, while proficient in technical knowledge, needed specific skills for the highest levels of multilateral negotiations. Additionally, the private sector was either absent or unaware of their potential impact. This led to incremental progress when transformative action was needed. Dr. Monheim’s response was CEMUNE: a non-partisan organization dedicated to supporting policymakers and working with businesses to translate agreements into ground-level actions. Our work began immediately, with our first negotiation support workshops contributing to the landmark 2015 Paris Agreement. This was followed by training workshops for the successful UK COP26 Presidency, UNCCD, ASEAN, and the COP28 discussions. Our work is more crucial than ever. With only seven years left until 2030, humanity must cut emissions in half. Effective multilateral negotiations are imperative for our survival and could be among humanity’s greatest achievements. CEMUNE has the people, experience, and proven approach to provide the capacity-building, skills, and knowledge negotiators need, while also engaging the private sector and civil society. That’s true collaboration. That's real progress. That's the CEMUNE difference.

We offer intercultural projects and prepare young people for becoming the change-makers that will contribute to the shaping of their society. As well as being our target group, young people also make up our diverse team which comes from all corners of the EU and beyond.

Young Leaders for Health is a non-profit organization pursuing four overarching objectives: 1) offering solutions to global health challenges; 2) nurturing the next generation of leaders in global health policy; 3) providing an interdisciplinary platform for the exchange and generation of knowledge, the development of innovative, sustainable and equitable projects in the field of global health, with a focus on health systems; 4) facilitating networking opportunities with people from around the world who are motivated to bring about positive changes in public and global health. Young Leaders for Health’s activities comprise of four pillars: Education, Innovation, Diplomacy and Advocacy. We have two main initiatives: our innovative YLH Social Entrepreneurship Challenge on eHealth, which previously tackled themes, such as Interoperability, Non-Communicable Diseases, Urban Population Health and Air Quality; and our unique YLH Conference, which focuses on addressing the challenges we continue to face with regards to the Global Health Workforce, the Agenda 2030's Sustainable Development Goals as well as Disaster and Risk Management. Furthermore, we frequently provide keynote speeches, partake in panel discussions and provide interactive workshops. Past engagements include speaking at the first WHO Symposium on the Digitalization of Health Systems in the European Region, the G7 Working Group of Health Experts Meeting 2019, the XPOMET Medicinale as well as the World Health Summit. In times of dramatic change, we shape common perspectives for the shared global challenges of the Atlantic Community. Through pragmatic, diverse, and honest dialogue between actors of the civil society, we equip the transatlantic bond for the future- Our organization strongly believe that smart policies and a strong transatlantic bond can only exist if we unite a broad range of people behind it. What we witness is that transatlantic topics or international affairs are often only discussed between a “foreign policy circle”. Other people rarely participate in these debates. This makes it so difficult to develop a narrative for the US-German and US-European partnership which assembles a wide majority behind it. As such, we try to “break the bubble” and bring people from a wide spectrum of opinions, background, and foreign policy expertise together. To make our transatlantic relations work, we need a “Foreign Policy for All”. Transatlantic policies affect everyone. So everyone should be onboard. Besides this inclusive character, we believe that it is necessary to communicate both our commonalities and differences between the USA, Germany, and Europe. Only with this honesty, we can move towards a sustainable, strategic cooperation in a transatlantic bond fit for the 21st century.
