Fiji Law Reform Commission
The Fiji Law Reform Commission is an independent statutory body that conducts systematic reform into areas of law, at the request of the Attorney-General of Fiji. Central to our approach is the commitment to engaging the public in the review process. We foster dialogue and consultation through our issues papers series, inviting input from the public before formulating recommendations for legal reform to be presented to the Minister. While the FLRC falls under the Attorney-General's purview, it is independent of government and is able to undertake research, consultations and make recommendations to the Parliament that- improve access to justice- remove inconsistencies and defects in the law- simplify the law - create new laws to meet current needs, and - adopt new and effective methods to enforce laws and deliver justice.
