U Thant House
U Thant House Myanmar's leading discussion centre on global affairs as well as a small museum dedicated to the U Thant, the third Secretary-General of the United Nations. U Thant House was U Thant's residence in the 1950s and has over the past three years hosted discussions with a wide range of international figures, including former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi, UN Environment Executive Director Erik Solheim, former West Bengal Governor and grandson of Mahatma Gandhi Shri Gopal Gandhi, acclaimed writer Amitav Ghosh, India's leading historian Amitav Ghosh, and former Executive Secretary of UN ESCAP Noeleen Heyzer. Beyond Ceasefires Initiative
The Beyond Ceasefires Initiative (BCI) is a collaborative effort of many partners working together to help share lessons from international experiences and connect Myanmar peace process actors to international expertise. Since 2013, BCI has brought to Myanmar dozens of world top practitioners and experts in fields of relevance to Myanmar to share ideas and knowledge gained from other peace processes, with leaders of the Myanmar peace process - to help stimulate ideas and new approaches and contribute to the development of well-informed local solutions and policy options.
