National Road Safety Council Of Namibia
The NRSC is a statutory body that was created in 1996 by section 2 of the National Road Safety Act, Act 9 of 1972. The ultimate objective of the NRSC is to promote road safety in the Republic. To this end the NRSC is empowered to: • Carryout research in relation to road safety • Collection and dissemination of road safety information • Provide road safety guidance through seminars, congresses, or any other means deemed fit by Council • Assist the Minister in coordinating accident and injury prevention measures • At the request of the Minister, enquire into any matter falling within the ambit of the Act, and report thereon. • Perform any other task falling within the objectives of the Act • Make recommendations to the Minister on road safety.

Atomic Energy & Radiation Protection Authority - Namibia
The Atomic Energy and Radiation Protection Act, No.5 of 2005 was enacted in May 2005 to provide for the adequate protection of the environment and of people in current and future generations against the harmful effects of radiation. The objects of the Act are- Minimize the exposure of persons and the environment in Namibia to the effects of harmful radiation- Ensure that adequate control is exercised over the possession, production, processing, sale, export and import of radiation sources and nuclear material- Create the necessary mechanisms to facilitate compliance with the obligations of Namibia under international agreements relating to nuclear energy, nuclear weapons and protection against the harmful effects of radiation. Mandate of the NRPA The National Radiation Protection Authority is established under Section 33 of the Act and its mandate includes- inform the Board annually about the extent of radiation exposure in Namibia- Inspect at such intervals as may be necessary any radiation source or nuclear material in order to assess radiation safety conditions and other requirements imposed by or under the Act- Establish and maintain a register of radioactive materials, imported into, or produced in, Namibia, and of premises licensed to install, store and use radiation sources or dispose of radioactive waste. Vision The Vision to be the National Competent Regulatory Authority for nuclear and radiation safety and security consistent with international standards and best practices. Mission The Mission to provide for the adequate protection of the environment and people in current and future generations against the harmful effects of radiation.
