LDZ CARGO Ltd. is one of the key players in Latvia’s transport and transit sector and a significant rail freight operator on a European scale. In June 2025, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the merger of three subsidiaries of the LDz Group. As part of the reorganisation, LDZ CARGO absorbed LDZ Rolling Stock Service and LDZ Logistics. From 3 October 2025, LDZ CARGO has taken over all commercial activities of the merged entities, becoming an even stronger and more competitive company in the Baltic region.

In accordance with the Rail Baltica Global Project implementation structure and the delegation agreement, Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnijas is the national implementing body of the Rail Baltica project in Latvia. The purpose of Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnijas is to ensure the development of the assets, services and knowledge necessary for the delivery and management of the strategic railway infrastructure of national importance, by implementing common Baltic States infrastructure management model and integration of the Rail Baltica railway line into the Single European Railway Area.
