American Poolplayers Association
The American Poolplayers Association (APA) was founded by professional poolplayers Terry Bell and Larry Hubbart in 1979 as the National Pool League, which became the American Poolplayers Association in 1981. The two realized the popularity of the sport, but knew that, different from other sports, there was no existing recreational league system. Today, the APA, also known as the Canadian Poolplayers Association in Canada and the Japanese Poolplayers Association in Japan, has grown to more than members and boasts more members than all other "national" leagues combined. The League is administered locally by a network of Franchise Operators. League play is conducted weekly with both 8-Ball and 9-Ball team formats offered. The APA hosts an 8-Ball and 9-Ball League system and each year teams have the opportunity to advance to the APA National Team Championships. At the national level, the APA guarantees more than $1 million in national tournament prize money. The APA also conducts the U.S. Amateur Championship, the pool world's most prestigious amateur tournament, which is the only competition open to APA members and nonmembers alike. From to the present, Entrepreneur Magazine rated the APA No. 1 in the category of Sports-Event Planning. Entrepreneur Magazine also honored the APA in its franchise 500 rankings. One of the keys to the success of the American Poolplayers Association is The Equalizer®, the unique handicapping and scoring system that makes it possible for players of different playing abilities - especially novices and beginners - to compete on an equal basis, much like they do in golf and bowling. The Equalizer® uses a formula that measures a player's ability. The result is a handicap of how many games a player must win to capture a match in 8-Ball or the number of points a player must earn to win a match in the 9-Ball format.

Blue Valley Recreation
Blue Valley Rec is a problem solver in the community. We provide educational training and active participation in the battle against childhood obesity; bring an economic impact to the community; contribute to a sustainable existence through educational classes and recycling opportunities; facilitate social interaction; develop analytic and cognitive skills; save lives through Learn-to-Swim classes; decrease crime; boost property value; and address the growing Boomers and Beyond population needs. Blue Valley Rec enriches lives of the community through hundreds of youth and adult programs, classes, activities, and sport leagues. Blue Valley Rec is a separate entity; the Board of Education certifies the Commission’s budget and appoints commissioners. Brec
BREC is the agency that connects people to parks and nature in East Baton Rouge Parish. It is a political subdivision of the state of Louisiana created in 1946 to develop, maintain and operate public park and recreational facilities. Throughout its 70-year history, BREC has taken seriously its responsibility to improve the health, safety, environment and quality of life for all citizens. BREC was among the first park agencies to earn national accreditation and recently earned reaccreditation for an unprecedented fifth time, meeting all 144 standards. BREC is a two-time National Gold Medal Award winner and 13-time national finalist. BREC has more than 170 parks including a unique mix of facilities, which mirror the history and rich natural resources in the region; including a state-of-the-art observatory, a swamp nature center and conservation areas, a performing arts theatre, an equestrian park, an art gallery, an arboretum, an accredited zoo, seven golf courses and an extreme sports park with a concrete skate park, rock-climbing wall, BMX track and velodrome. Since 2004, BREC has constructed twelve community parks, five dog parks, a family-sized Aquatics Center, a growing trails system, fishing ponds, larger playgrounds and procured two mobile recreation units to serve play deserts in the area. The combination of new and renovated facilities, innovative programming and careful attention to community needs help BREC fulfill its mission of enriching lives through parks, recreation and nature.

Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation
Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation (CCPR) is a nationally accredited agency and 2014 recipient of the National Gold Medal Award. Established in 1991 through a unique partnership between the City of Carmel and Clay Township, CCPR plays an integral role in the quality of life of our community, helping Carmel be named America's #1 Best Place to Live by Money Magazine in August 2012. CCPR manages over 500 acres of park land and numerous recreation facilities, including the award-winning Monon Community Center and The Waterpark.
