Re-Volt, S.A
We market reliable single-home solar energy systems to rural Haitians on a lease-to-own basis, giving them unprecedented access to electricity in their own homes. Over 80% of Haitians do not have access to the electrical grid - regardless of their ability to pay, the wires don't come close to where they live. We're aggressively solving this problem, one village at a time.

Lakay Vèt
Note: Currently, due to security threats and country-wide unrest, all operations have been suspended. If you have questions please email info@lakayvet.com Lakay Vèt developed innovative solutions for closed loop resource management in Haiti. Our team designed, prototyped and implemented technologically and culturally appropriate biogas and plastic processing solutions. Prior to suspending operations in 2019, Lakay Vèt was undergoing the construction of a biodigester that capable of processing 1 metric ton of waste per day. Our partnerships with universities in the US and UK that allowed us to maintain our smaller scale digester for research and training (eg. biogas yield maximization experiments using local crops). In our partnerships with Renewology and Plastic Ocean Project, we were preparing to also implement a local plastics-to-fuel recycling system in 2020. Impact Summary - Support Local Agriculture by providing an environmentally friendly and domestically produced bio-fertilizer - Promote Environmental Health: clean up the trash-ridden streets and ravines, thereby promoting healthier and safer communities by reducing disease transmission pathways - Provide Domestic Power: produce Biogas that can be used as a cooking fuel or in generators for electric power- Enhance Local Job Market: provide local, skilled and unskilled job opportunities for Haitians.
