Welcome to NeuGeneration Conference on Neuroscience. NeuGeneration is a two-day conference held at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario that is organized by a group of undergraduate students who share a common interest in neuroscience. Every year, the multi-faceted field attracts a diverse group of delegates to gather for a weekend of thought-provoking talks, interactive workshops and challenging case-competitions. As an organization we strive to provide delegates with an experience that leaves them with new ideas, questions to ponder and most importantly unique memories. Our conference has seen presentations on mental health and Alzheimer's disease to topics in neurosurgery and brain plasticity. Being only in our third year, NeuGeneration's main goal is to engage members of all areas of academia in the discussion surrounding the inner workings of the brain. As we approach our third annual conference in January 2018, we hope to entice you to join to conversation and explore the complexity and sophisticated nature of the human mind.

Neuromuscular Disease Network For Canada Nmd4c
The Neuromuscular Disease Network for Canada (NMD4C), launched in January 2020, with renewed funding in 2023 is a Canadian network that brings together the country’s leading clinical, scientific, technical, and patient expertise on neuromuscular disease. The rarity and diversity of neuromuscular diseases make interdisciplinary collaboration and networking essential to future progress. For such collaboration to be meaningful, patients, advocates, clinicians, researchers, and industry professionals must work together as partners to identify health problems and research gaps, set priorities, and co-develop appropriate outputs that enable the best outcomes for Canadians. NMD4C strives to achieve these outcomes by uniting neuromuscular disease stakeholders in a formal network, training and educating neuromuscular disease stakeholders, strengthening biomedical and clinical infrastructure to build research capacity, and raising the standard of care and access to therapies.

Northbeat
NorthBEAT (Barriers to Early Assessment and Treatment) is a collaborative of researchers and service providers across Northern Ontario with an interest in improving the system of care for youth with psychosis. Since 2012, NorthBEAT has continued to grow in scope and size. The NorthBEAT Project (2012-15) was a descriptive research project, funded by the Sick Kids Foundation in partnership with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), that explored the service needs of adolescents who experience psychosis in Northern Ontario. In 2016, NorthBEAT expanded its scope to address barriers to early psychosis intervention and improve Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) services. In 2017, the Ontario Trillium Foundation awarded NorthBEAT a Youth Opportunities Fund grant to support a strategic collaborative. This diverse collaborative will improve coordination of care, build capacity to detect psychosis symptoms early, and enhance access to appropriate services for youth with psychosis who live in Northwestern Ontario. The Pelee Island Bird Observatory is a non-profit charitable organisation devoted to the study and conservation of birds. The observatory conducts intensive migration-monitoring research and breeding bird studies on Pelee Island from April to November. PIBO’s field station at Fish Point Provincial Nature Reserve is open to the public in the spring and autumn, with educational programs provided to visiting school groups throughout the month of May.
