Regenerative Medecine Axis
The Regenerative Medecine Axis of the CHU of Quebec (Laval university) was created in 2012 and regroup 25 researchers (20 regular, 5 associates), 20 clinical collaborators, and 4 Canada Research Chairs (CRC), as well as numerous students (masters, phD students, postdoctorates and intern). It brings together different approaches in regenerative medicine and allows the convergence of technological platforms. Numerous collaborations took place between the researchers of the Research Center for Experimental Organogenesis at Laval University (LOEX) and the Multidisciplinary Center for Tissue Engineering Development (CMDGT) at the Hôpital de l'Enfant-Jésus, as well as with the University Center of Ophthalmology (CUO) at the Hôpital du Saint-Sacrement and the Biotechnology and Bioengineering Unit of the Hôpital de Saint-François d'Assise. The Regenerative Medicine axis provides real support to the clinic by proposing innovative solutions, making full use of the potential of regenerative medicine. The Axis includes three major research themes that aim to understand the physiological, physiopathological and molecular mechanisms of regeneration, and to develop therapies for repair, replacement and regeneration of tissues and organs. Axis themes are: 1- Biomaterials, prostheses and implants 2- Tissue engineering and stem cells 3- Vision health In addition to this research, the Axis promotes scientific exchanges and regularly organizes conferences and scientific activities. A student committee of the Regenerative Medicine Axis was formed in 2018 and helps to set up various scientific and social events.

Res'eau- Waternet
Most Canadians who live in mid-size and large urban centres take drinking water for granted – we’ve grown accustomed to the idea that clean drinking water is only as far away as the nearest tap. However, a shocking number of small, rural and First Nations communities (SRCs) struggle to provide drinkable water on a regular basis, putting six million Canadians at risk for water-borne disease. In SRCs, unique and complex socio-cultural, economic, political and technological issues have shut out the progress that research, development and significant government funding from broad tax bases has brought to larger populations. Many small water treatment systems are underfunded and difficult to staff with experienced equipment operators given their remote settings. Often, they rely on outdated treatment technologies. The result is that many communities have learned to live in a third-world-like environment. In 2010 alone, 1,324 “boil water advisories” and 20 “do-not-consume/do-not-touch” warnings were issued in Canada. For an innovative, prosperous country like Canada, this situation is unacceptable – SRCs urgently require cost-effective and reliable monitoring and treatment technologies optimized for their unique needs. And that’s where RES’EAU-WaterNET comes in.

SONIA AUV is a Canadian student-run technical club from ÉTS located in Montreal, Quebec. Established in we have since designed and engineered several autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) in order to compete at the annual RoboSub competition in San Diego. The behaviors demonstrated by these experimental robotic submarines mimic those of real-world systems, currently deployed around the world for underwater exploration, seafloor mapping, and sonar localization, amongst many others. We are also members of our community looking to further our research in the engineering field. Our numorous sponsors and professors have helped us tremendously in achieving the team's goals. SONIA AUV is always looking to partner with companies to help the advancement of our projects. We help giving back to our community by promoting our work in schools and other STEM events such as the Eureka! Festival.
