LoGRI supports governments to raise local revenue more fairly and in ways that promote trust, transparency and accountability. We do this by- Partnering with governments to provide hands-on support and advice - Conducting collaborative, applied research to inform reform projects - Developing operational tools, including technology solutions - Delivering skills training to develop local capacity We also seek to share insights and shape policy by engaging with regional and international stakeholders on local public finance issues. Mcmaster Engineering Ecocar Ev Challenge
The EcoCAR EV Challenge is a four-year collegiate automotive engineering program, challenging 15 universities across North America to engineer a battery electric vehicle (BEV) demonstrating the potential of advanced propulsion systems, connected and automated vehicle (CAV) technologies, and other innovative technologies to enhance energy efficiency, while providing customer pleasing features. McMaster Engineering EcoCAR Team hopes to build upon McMaster University’s reputation as an outstanding technical school and academic leader in the development of sustainable advanced vehicle technology. By working closely with the McMaster Institute for Automotive Research and Technology (MacAUTO) and the McMaster Centre for Software Certification (McSCert), the McMaster team is looking to establish McMaster University as a major competitor in EcoCAR and in AVTCs to come. The McMaster Engineering EcoCAR Team is excited to participate in the first year of this four year long competition. This year, the McMaster Engineering EcoCAR team has added new team members that are prepared to face new challenges with this brand-new competition and create a unique electric vehicle while pushing the bounds of connected and automated driving. The Migrant Integration in the Mid-21st Century: Bridging Divides research program is dedicated to building a new understanding of the challenges and opportunities that migrant integration poses for Canada (and all countries) locally and across borders. The program’s unique interdisciplinary research design will drive leadership in the areas of citizenship and civic participation, the future of work, healthcare, and the responsible and ethical use of advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, which is changing the way we work, live and interact. This intersectional approach will further the modernization of global immigration policies and contribute to building communities and urban centres that are equitable, resilient and inclusive to migrants. The program will focus on the urban context, including both large urban centres and small- and mid-sized cities, as these are the main destinations of both newcomers and settled immigrants. This project is funded by the Government of Canada through the Canada First Research Excellence Fund (CFREF).

Therapeutics Initiative
The Therapeutics Initiative (TI) was established in 1994 by the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics in cooperation with the Department of Family Practice at The University of British Columbia with its mission to provide physicians and pharmacists with up-to-date, evidence-based, practical information on prescription drug therapy. To reduce bias as much as possible the TI is an independent organization, separate from government, pharmaceutical industry and other vested interest groups. We strongly believe in the need for independent assessments of evidence on drug therapy to balance the drug industry sponsored information sources. Over the years the TI has substantially enhanced its ability to assess the clinical evidence presented in published articles, meta-analyses by the Cochrane Collaboration and scientific material presented by the pharmaceutical industry. In pace with the extensive assessment of clinical evidence, the TI has developed effective ways of knowledge translation and dissemination of this evidence to all active players involved in drug therapy: physicians, pharmacists, nurses and policy-makers (Ministry of Health) and is committed to analyzing its own impact.

The Wind Energy Institute of Canada is a not-for-profit entity formed in 1981 that advances the development of wind energy across Canada through research, testing, innovation and collaboration. Located in North Cape, Prince Edward Island on Canada’s east coast, we’re ideally situated for wind study with 300 degree exposure to the water, average wind speeds of 8.2 m/s at 50 m, and numerous icing events per year.
