Institute Of Molecular And Translational Medicine, Faculty Of Medicine&dentistry, Palacky University
The IMTM’s mission is basic and translational biomedical research with the goal to understand the underlying causes of cancer and infectious diseases and to develop future human medicines and diagnostics. The formation of IMTM concentrates, formalizes and integrates the long-standing cooperation of the various research groups in the Czech Republic and abroad under one umbrella. Unique capabilities • The flexibility of our drug and biomarker discovery engine components to dynamically accommodate the project needs and create an optimal configuration is one of the greatest assets of the Institute. Strategically, it allows us as well as our academic and industrial partners to maximize drug and biomarker discovery resources for both exploratory and developmental projects. Industrial partners, especially large pharma can capitalize on such a flexible and adaptive research model that may be more difficult to practice in a large organization. • Cancer research expertise with cutting-edge technology platforms complemented with clinical oncology programs at the University Hospital in Olomouc and other collaborating hospitals. • Unique tissue/fluid biobanking complemented with clinical data. • IMTM is the national node for EATRIS (European Advance Translational Medicine Infrastructure), thus has access to wide range of European research institutions and hospitals performing translational research.

Czech Centre For Phenogenomics
The Czech Centre for Phenogenomics hosted by the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (CCP) is the only specialized place in the Czech Republic that creates genetically modified mouse and rat models, at the level of the world's best centres, while using the most advanced standardized phenotyping to characterize the gene functions in vivo. CCP provides a full spectrum of genetic engineering services including the generation of mouse models of disease, cryoarchiving and distribution. A key facility of CCP is the Phenotyping Module performing high throughput but standardized analysis capturing nearly unique parameters to each (or its mutation) gene analyzed. CCP is developing preclinical testing procedures to support translation of the research into application, including PDX (Patient-Derived Tumor Xenograft) technology studying the development of human tumors as well as customized preclinical research that includes disease model generation and testing potential therapeutics, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and toxicology. The main areas of CCP activities are: 1) generation of precise animal models using genome editing to reveal gene function in the physiology of the organism and during disease development, and development of novel genome manipulation technologies, 2) standardized and comprehensive characterization/phenotyping, and development and establishment of novel phenotyping technologies, 3) preclinical research to support the development of new treatment options, including the development of new drugs, as well as the testing the treatments for infections in model organisms, 4) development and establishment of knowledge and technologies for gene and precision therapy and diagnostics.

Laser-Plasma-Accelerator.Com
Our goal is to give to the community a platform where our members can exchange ideas, discuss technical issues, find solutions to their problems, find a guide to the most cited literature in the field, a guide for laboratory equipment selection, and a way to share their own content in their profile page. Originally, two major facts motivated the development of this platform- The enormously growing number of papers in the literature, which makes it harder to find the most appropriate references- The difficulties in buying experimental equipment without either spending several days identifying the most suitable device, or quickly buying a tool which may not be the best match to one’s needs. laser-plasma-accelerator.com long-term vision is to act as a bridge across different research institutes and high-tech companies with the ultimate goal of further spreading the disruptive laser plasma acceleration technology in different fields of research and in the society.

Journal On Efficiency And Responsibility In Education And Science
In 2004, the first year of an international scientific conference called “Efficiency and Responsibility in Education” took place, organized by the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague. Throughout the years, the conference has been successfully entrenched in the schedule of international scientific conferences dealing with education. The conference has also acquired a stable range of participants both from the Czech Republic and abroad. After four successful years, the frame of the conference became insufficient for its specific purposes. Thus, “Journal on Efficiency and Responsibility in Education and Science” (ERIES Journal) was founded at the beginning of 2008. The aim of the journal extends from “Education” to “Education and Science” in order to compare and enhance the ways of efficiency measurement and the reflection of responsibility criteria in more scientific disciplines, particularly in- the theory and methodology of pedagogy and education- the theory and methodology of science- human resources and human relations management- knowledge management and knowledge engineering- systems engineering and information engineering - applications in education and/or science- quantitative methods for education and/or science. ERIES Journal is managed by an international editorial board as a regular scientific journal. A web-based submission system clearly enables a rigorous process of paper review (a double blind-peer review). The journal is published four times a year, on March 31, June 30, September 30 and December 31 of the current year. ERIES Journal is now indexed in- BASE - Bielefeld Academic Search Engine- Directory of Open Access Journals- EBSCO database- Emerging Sources Citation Index - Web of Science™ Core Collection - ERIC- ERIH PLUS- Google Scholar- the list of reviewed periodicals in the Czech Republic- Open Academic Journals Index (OAJI)- ResearchBib- SCOPUS.

Queer Geography
Queer Geography z. s.(QG) is a professional think - tank, i.e. a group of experts, scientific, pedagogical, and professional staff, as well as other people interested in interdisciplinary understanding and study of human sexuality (sexualities), gender identity (identities), and issues related to them. The QG focuses on promoting holistic, syndemic and therefore biopsychosocial understanding of related social and health problems, questions or challenges; in the sense of contributing to more effective acceptance of sexual and gender diversity within the wider society, reducing stigmatization, discrimination, and the removal of other normative, institutional, legal or other barriers to the quality of life of some people. QG will stimulate interdisciplinary collaboration, streamline knowledge transfer between disciplines, and promote new interdisciplinary fields such as geographies of sexualities, LGBTQ psychology, and social epidemiology. The aim of the QG is to contribute to the improvement of the life situation of people whose daily (social, health, cultural, etc.) living reality is or may be affected by their differences in sexuality, gender identity, HIV sero-starus, mental health or other factors, which are related to this difference. QG has a primary interest in contributing to the improvement of the life situation of non-heterosexual people, people with gender non-conformities, HIV-positive people, people living with AIDS and other people affected by the syndemics of minority stress, stigmatization or discrimination; or whose life situation stagnates or deteriorates due to insufficient level of knowledge or insufficient knowledge transfer between individual fields of enquiry.
