Blue bioeconomy is the production and use of marine/aquatic biological resources to provide products, processes and services in all sectors of the economy. The Blue Bioeconomy in Northern Germany is an umbrella brand of the Bioeconomy at Marine Sites (BaMS) e.V. Kiel, Germany. The umbrella brand Blue Bioeconomy in Northern Germany supports the transition to a blue bio-based economy in Northern Germany. Behind this guiding principle, companies, research institutions, universities and other stakeholders combine their mission to expand and shape the sustainable use of the oceans and aquatic systems. BaMS Association The Bioeconomy at Marine Sites e.V.[Bioökonomie auf Marinen Standorten e.V.(BaMS)] was founded on 30.09.2019 in Kiel as a non-profit association and entered under the registration number VR 7064 KI in the register of associations of the District Court of Kiel. Through their membership, the members have declared themselves to contribute to the transition to a bio-based economy in Germany through scientific research and development in the field of the sustainable blue bioeconomy. The members are looking for economically, ecologically and socially viable solutions to the challenges and obstacles that stand in the way of such a bio-based economy. BaMS is already the most important association of actors in the blue bioeconomy in the German-speaking world. Through cooperation with partners at home and abroad and the use of digital aids, the association offers its members a broad information and communication basis that also offers its members professional support outside of project work. Physics of Life (PoL) is one of five clusters of excellence at TU Dresden. We aim to elucidate the laws of physics that underlie the dynamic spatiotemporal organization of life into molecules, cells and tissues. Our goal is to bring fundamental physics to biology for the purpose of understanding and solving biological questions. We are dedicated to creating a multidisciplinary environment where scientists from physics, biology and computer science are investigating how active matter in cells and tissues organizes itself into given structures and gives rise to life. Our research is enabled by merging theory and experiment and driven by a collaborative atmosphere in Dresden between University and non-University research laboratories. PoL is funded by the DFG within the framework of the Excellence Strategy. It is a cooperation between scientists of the TU Dresden and research institutions of the DRESDEN-concept network, such as the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics (MPI-CBG), the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems (MPI-PKS), the Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research (IPF) and the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR).

The Department Artificial Intelligence in Biomedical Engineering (AIBE) was established as part of the Hightech Agenda Bayern. The traditional chair structure has been abandoned in order to maximize internal exchange and cooperation. Artificial Intelligence research at AIBE is centered around the study and development of intelligent systems in medicine. Our research focuses on theoretical foundations as well as applications for future healthcare. Medical Robotics AIBE is active in all major areas of Medical Robotics, in particular in prosthetics, surgical robotics, rehabilitation robotics and virtual reality for gamification and rehabilitation. We also specifically focus on AI-based co-adaptation of users and devices, and AI-driven human-machine interaction. Imaging and Sensing Our research is dedicated to improving the effectiveness and reducing side effects of medical imaging and sensing technologies. We develop novel diagnostic biomarkers, imaging methodologies, and automated image analysis techniques for early detection of disease and optimal treatment. Health Data Science We advance methodological knowledge in the fields of biostatistics, epidemiology, public health, disease phenotyping, and medical informatics. Our main research is focused on the surface modification of fiber materials by chemical and physical methods - distinguished specialties are photochemistry, supramolecular chemistry and nanotechnology. DTNW acts as mediator between basic research and industry through its close co-operation with companies from the whole textile chain, chemical industry, as well as manufacturers and users of products made from functional textiles. Das Elektrotechnische Institut (ETI) gehört zur Fakultät für Elektrotechnik und Informationstechnik innerhalb des Karlsruher Instituts für Technologie (KIT) und wurde 1895 errichtet.
