By managing and coordinating clinical trials across borders, connecting networks, and advising and implementing policy, ECRIN advances knowledge flow, competitiveness and integration in European clinical research. ECRIN was created in 2004 and was awarded the status of a European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC) in 2013.

Institute Of Physico-Chemical Biology Ibpc Paris, France
The Institute of Physico-Chemical Biology was created in 1930 by the Edmond de Rothschild Foundation. At the time, the IBPC was the only scientific institution to employ full-time researchers, biologists, physicists and chemists, dedicated exclusively to the advancement of knowledge. This concept, designed by Jean Perrin, Nobel Prize in Physics 1926, fore-shadowed what would become the National Centre for Scientific Research, created ten years later. The various departments and laboratories that initially composed the IBPC evolved during the twentieth century into research units involving the CNRS and the Universities. In January 1997, the Edmond de Rothschild Foundation transferred scientific and administrative responsibility for IBPC to the CNRS. Today, the IBPC is managed by a research federation, the FRC 550, and hosts five research units under the umbrella of the Institute of Biological Sciences (INSB) or the Institute of Chemical Sciences (INC) of the CNRS. These units are associated with the Universities Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC) and Paris-Diderot. The IBPC remains faithful to its vocation to promote multidisciplinary research in all fields of biology. The structural, genetic and physico-chemical bases of living organisms are explored to different levels of integration, from the molecule to the whole organism. The IBPC is a place of research open to the international scientific community, which promotes studies guided by scientific curiosity and performed in a free intellectual atmosphere. The IBPC is a member of the Foundation Pierre Gilles de Gennes and active partner of all research institutions of the Montagne Ste Geneviève.

Iphc - Institut Pluridisciplinaire Hubert Curien - Cnrs
L’Institut Pluridisciplinaire Hubert Curien (UMR7178, CNRS / Université de Strasbourg) est un exemple de réussite de la pluridisciplinarité. Un institut ambitieux qui réunit les compétences de physiciens, chimistes et biologistes pour développer des programmes pluridisciplinaires de très haut niveau avec comme socle l’instrumentation scientifique L’IPHC est structuré en quatre départements : le Département d’Ecologie, Physiologie et Ethologie (DEPE), le Département de Recherches Subatomiques (DRS), le Département des Sciences Analytiques (DSA) et le Département de Radiobiologie, Hadronthérapie et Imagerie Moléculaire (DRHIM). Les aspects pluridisciplinaires des programmes de recherche ont été développés pour devenir des projets à part entière comme par exemple, le projet Biologgers (DEPE – DRS), la Protéomique (DSA – DEPE – DRS), les nouvelles sondes chimiques pour l’imagerie moléculaire (DRS – DSA – DEPE). Le cyclotron Cyrcé, installé à l’IPHC fin 2012, est un outil puissant pour développer les activités pluridisciplinaires autour de la santé puisqu'il permet la production de radioisotopes et la préparation de molécules radiomarquées. Nouveau fleuron de la pluridisciplinarité au CNRS et à l’université, orchestré par le monde académique, il fédère les équipes de physiciens, de (radio)chimistes, de biologistes et de médecins autour de programmes scientifiques pour participer aux avancées de la recherche médicale en France par l’étude du vivant, l’aide au diagnostic et l’évaluation de nouveaux médicaments. Au plan de la formation, l’IPHC est impliqué à divers niveaux de responsabilités, entre autre, dans 5 masters de l’Université de Strasbourg. L'IPHC est dirigé depuis août 2021 par Sandrine Courtin.

Laboratoire De Physique Des Solides Lps
Le Laboratoire de Physique des Solides est une unité mixte de recherche (UMR 8502) de l’Université Paris-Saclay et du CNRS. Il regroupe une centaine de chercheurs et enseignants-chercheurs, expérimentateurs et théoriciens, et l’activité de recherche est soutenue par une soixantaine d’ingénieurs, techniciens et administratifs. Le laboratoire accueille chaque année un grand nombre d’étudiants de premier et deuxième cycle dont de nombreux doctorants, ainsi que des chercheurs en postdoctorat et des scientifiques invités. Le laboratoire couvre une plus grande variété de sujets que son nom ne le suggère, et vise à aborder toute la diversité de la physique de la matière condensée. L’activité de recherche s’organise autour de trois grands axes, qui impliquent chacun à peu près le même nombre de scientifiques - Nouveaux états électroniques de la matière - Phénomènes physiques aux dimensions réduites - Matière molle et interface physique-biologie Dans le premier axe sont regroupées des études tant expérimentales que théoriques ayant trait aux propriétés des systèmes dans lesquels les corrélations électroniques sont généralement fortes et qui sont sièges de propriétés remarquables et d’états électroniques non conventionnels tels que la supraconductivité, le magnétisme, les transitions métal-isolant ect. Dans le deuxième se retrouvent les activités relevant des « nanosciences » au sens large. Elles sont ici abordées du point de vue des propriétés fondamentales, lorsque les dimensions d’un objet deviennent aussi petites que certaines distances caractéristiques (longueur de cohérence, libre parcours moyen, …). Le troisième axe, étend le concept de « matière molle » à des systèmes biologiques. Les thèmes vont donc des systèmes complexes aux tissus vivants, des cristaux liquides aux mousses, en passant par les polymères ou les systèmes granulaires. Ces études physiques sont à l’interface avec la physico-chimie et la biologie.

Aquitaine Science Transfert is the Nouvelle Aquitaine TTO (Technology Transfer Office).
