Apulia Center For Art And Technology
Apulia Center is a winning project “PIN – Iniziativa promossa dalle Politiche Giovanili della Regione Puglia e ARTI e finanziata con risorse del FSE – PO Puglia 2014/2020 Azione 8.4 e del Fondo per lo Sviluppo e la Coesione”. The aim of Apulia Center is to fill the lack of places intended for art in Apulia through the creation of artist-in-residence events, through paths based on new technologies and through the development of an exchange network made of local and international artists. The center was born deliberately in the province of Bari, in order to create a dialogue about contemporary art in unusual spaces. The center is an open container to the multidisciplinary of all the arts that interact with the digital language; its work uses exchanges, and creative and formative processes in partnership with art and technology experts. Apulia Center also hosts a HUB that works and cooperates with the community, exchanging opinions and discussing about numerous subjects, giving the utmost attention to the territory and to the processes of creation and formation. The center and its methods broke through in the artistic panorama of Apulia. A strong collaboration has been created right away with important realities of the contemporary scene in Apulia. The “Fondazione Museo Pino Pascali”, placed in Polignano, embraced our project hosting our press conference and later becoming a partner of our “Linea Festival”. The “Fondazione” invited us to present our catalogue about “Linea Festival” during the 57th Venice Biennale. The center also worked with KUKA Robotics, exhibiting two different projects during the Art Weeks held in Torino (2019) and Bologna (2020).

The wellbeing of mountains and their communities is of global importance. Over 900 million people worldwide live in mountain areas and mountains supply half the world's population with freshwater. The Center for Global Mountain Safeguard Research (GLOMOS) conducts applied and transdisciplinary research for sustainable development in global mountains, with a focus on the analysis and management of interconnected climate and disaster risks. Our international team investigates the linkages between mountains and lowlands, analysing the existing and emerging challenges facing mountain social-ecological systems and supporting the co-development of strategies to adapt to and mitigate the impacts of climate change. The final aim of our research is to support mountain populations worldwide to become more resilient to all types of external stressors and disaster risks while preserving the richness of biological and cultural diversity, leaving no one behind. This includes not only working with local communities for practical solutions, but also with policy makers at different governance levels. GLOMOS also actively advocates for greater inclusion of mountains in global policy-making processes, such as the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Paris Agreement and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction. GLOMOS is a joint research initiative of Eurac Research (Bolzano, Italy) and the United Nations University Institute for Environment and Human Security (Bonn, Germany). Eurac Research hosts the GLOMOS Center in Bolzano, making it the first official UN office in South Tyrol.
