Giovanni Solari Wind Engineering Gs-Windyn Research Group

The Giovanni Solari - Wind Engineering and Structural Dynamics (GS-WinDyn) Research Group, named after his founder Prof. Giovanni Solari, aims at investigating the interactions between wind and structures at the academic, educational and technical level, with a homogeneous and interdisciplinary approach. Thanks to its interdisciplinary composition, this group has the unique property to cover almost all the sectors of wind science and engineering – namely atmospheric physics, meteorology, climatology and geophysics, aerodynamics and aeroelasticity, structural and architectural engineering, environmental sciences and wind energy – with special expertise in structural dynamics. It also has an ideal position to address research through a wide range of tools: it has longstanding experience in analytical and physical models, a library of commercial and self-developed numerical programs including CFD codes, a laboratory equipped to carry out in situ anemometric measurements, dynamic tests on structural models, full-scale experiments on real structures, a closed-circuit wind tunnel. Juridical Observatory On Digital Innovation - Jodi

What is the legal status of data? Are smart-contracts contracts? Is current legislation fit to address the many problems posed by self-learning machines? Is it legal to purchase goods with a cryptocurrency? Who is liable for the harm or damage caused by AI's systems? Established in 2019 at the Department of Law and Economics of Productive Activities of Università di Roma La Sapienza, the Juridical Observatory on Digital Innovation - JODI (Osservatorio giuridico delle innovazioni digitali - OGID) examines the interactions between technology and private law, by considering digital innovations from the perspectives of classical legal concepts such as contract, torts, personhood, etc. JODI (OGID)’s activities include the organization of seminars and webinars on a regular basis run by internal members as well as by external researchers and professionals with a variety of backgrounds, the promotion and editing of publications as well as the participation in public consultation procedures in matters relating to EU’s projects of governance of digital innovation. JODI (OGID) is headed by Prof. Salvatore Orlando, who is full professor of Private Law at Università di Roma La Sapienza, Faculty of Economics, and lawyer in Rome. The responsible for the organization is Dr. Daniele Imbruglia, who is fixed-term Research Fellow in Private Law at Università di Roma La Sapienza, Faculty of Economics. As from 2020, JODI/OGID is in charge of coordinating a regular column on the quarterly Italian legal journal Persona e Mercato aimed at tracking developments at a national and European level in the area of technology law and practice.

Micro X-ray Lab" is a public research laboratory established in 2015 with the financial support of Region Apulia within the call for "Network of Public Research Laboratories" with the aim of supporting public and private enterprises and starting new fields of technological development. The Laboratory is a joint project of two Academic excellences of Apulia Region, the Department of Soil, Plant and Food Sciences (Di.S.S.P.A.) of the University of Bari "Aldo Moro" and the Department of Civil, Environmental, Territorial, Building Engineer and Chemistry of the Polytechnic University of Bari (D.I.C.A.T.E.Ch). The advanced state-of-the-art instrumentation available and the highly skilled researchers involved in the project allow the "Micro X-ray Lab" to provide a valuable and qualified scientific support to private enterprises and public institutions in the field of environmental and agricultural issues. In addition, exploiting the advantages of the non destructive analytical techniques available in the Laboratory and the multidisciplinary skills of the staff, the "Micro X-ray Lab" can offer a wide selection of services for the chemical and physical characterization of a number of materials: soils, sediments, rocks, wastes, fertilizers, recycled materials, atmospheric particles, agrifood products, cultural heritage pieces, biological samples, and so on.

9-Tech is a company made up of a team of engineers and researchers who study and create prototypes, in particular develop new solutions to recover strategic materials from electronic waste. 9-Tech’s mission is to guarantee waste upcycling, i.e. the valorisation of the critical materials it contains. Among the technologies under study, the one with the highest TRL concerns the recycling of photovoltaic waste. Thanks to the close collaboration with the Depuracque company, 9-Tech aims to sell photovoltaic panel recycling plants in Italy and Europe that will allow the recovery of more materials and with higher purity compared to existing solutions. 9-Tech also works in other research projects in the field of circular economy and ESG (Environmental – Social – Governance), supporting the design and construction of prototypes and developing technologies for which it holds patents.

Advanced Surface Analysis Laboratory - Ismn-Cnr

Advanced Surface Analysis Laboratory is a facility of the ISMN-CNR, dedicated to the investigation of the surface chemical composition of advanced materials. XPS, AES and UPS measurements are performed by using an ESCALAB MKII and ESCALAB 250 Xi. The apparatus are equipped with an ion gun (Ar+) for ion etching and depth profiling. Surface analysis techniques are intensively used for the characterization of different innovative materials, such as thin films of metal oxides and semiconductors, anti-corrosive coatings, 2D allotropes of carbon, superalloys, supramolecular assemblies, nanoparticles, biocompatible coatings, etc.

Applying intelligence and informatics in solving most complex problems in science, engineering, real-life manufacturing, defence, management, government, and industrial domains. The 2022 International Conference on Applied Intelligence and Informatics (AII2022) provides a premier international forum to bring together researchers and practitioners from diverse domains for the sharing of cutting-edge research results obtained through the application of intelligence and/or informatics to solve problems otherwise would not have been possible to solve. AII2022 also fosters exchange and dissemination of innovative and practical development of methodologies and technologies with real-life applications. AII2022 aims to run in a competition format and asks all authors to make their dataset and methodology open access for the community usage.
