Il Dipartimento di Ingegneria, ICT e Tecnologie per l’Energia e i Trasporti (CNR_DIITET), per numero di ricercatori e tecnologi, infrastrutture distribuite e per la diffusa presenza dei suoi Istituti sul territorio nazionale, ha la massa critica e la produzione scientifica necessarie per accreditarsi, nei settori di competenza, come hub tra mondo delle imprese, amministrazioni centrali e periferiche dello Stato, e sistema pubblico della ricerca, inteso come insieme di Università ed EPR. Il Dipartimento è oggi articolato in 19 Istituti, con un totale complessivo di 47 sedi (19 sedi principali e 28 sedi secondarie). Il Dipartimento punta sul potenziamento delle connessioni tra le aree strategiche di sua competenza e la comunità scientifica esterna. I 19 Istituti afferenti sono e restano il luogo primario di sviluppo della conoscenza disciplinare; il Dipartimento raccoglie la domanda proveniente dai settori industriali, dalla società, dagli altri Dipartimenti CNR e dalle comunità scientifiche esterne al CNR e crea sistemi di Open Innovation, attivando in modo organizzato gruppi di istituti e ricercatori in funzione della domanda stessa, con uno schema a “geometria variabile”. Promuove inoltre la multidisciplinarietà come paradigma essenziale della grande progettualità, il vero obiettivo a cui puntare, ed agire in stretto rapporto anche con gli altri Dipartimenti. Facilita, condivide le conoscenze, per la costruzione della offerta multidisciplinare ed interdipartimentale, fornendo così a istituti e singoli ricercatori opportunità di penetrazione in contesti in cui, isolati, non si riesce ad arrivare. Rafforza la presenza del CNR nelle reti di tipo pubblico-privato nazionali ed internazionali, ove possibile guidando la componente scientifica, e facendosi promotore di scouting dell’innovazione, in rapporto con Consiglio Scientifico, Istituti e ricercatori, analizzando trend di sviluppo ed interrogando le imprese circa i loro bisogni di ricerca.

Diatrivì nasce nel 2003 per realizzare progetti di ricerca, corsi di Educazione Continua in Medicina di sanitari, convegni aperti al pubblico. L’attività di ricerca clinica per lo studio di farmaci, integratori nutrizionali e cosmetici si svolge in collaborazione con aziende farmaceutiche, altre società ed enti di ricerca, secondo le direttive del Ministero della salute, affiancandole attività clinica dei suoi partner. Completa l’elaborazione dei risultati degli studi eseguiti, una costante attività di organizzazione di corsi di Educazione Continua in Medicina (ECM) rivolti al personale sanitario. L’attività informativa rivolta al pubblico è costantemente effettuata tramite convegni e dibattiti di elevato standard qualitativo, volti a permettere un diretto contatto dei partecipanti con gli specialisti dei diversi settori sanitari per fare chiarezza in un mondo spesso sovraffollato di informazioni, non sempre scientificamente attendibili. Diatrivì, in collaborazione con l’Istituto Frontis si impegna anche nella realizzazione di Open Day nel campo della profilassi e medicina preventiva, scienza dell’alimentazione, sport e salute, medicina estetica integrata e chirurgia. Le mission quindi sono tre: provare scientificamente l’efficacia di ogni terapia, formare un personale sanitario preparato, attento e collaborativo, insegnare alle persone a prendersi cura di sé stessi ogni giorno.

The European Multidisciplinary Seafloor and water column Observatory (EMSO) aims to explore the oceans, to gain a better understanding of phenomena happening within and below them, and to explain the critical role that these phenomena play in the broader Earth systems. EMSO consists in a system of regional facilities placed at key sites around Europe, from North East to the Atlantic, through the Mediterranean, to the Black Sea. Observatories are platforms equipped with multiple sensors, placed along the the water column and on the seafloor. They constantly measure different biogeochemical and physical parameters, that address natural hazards, climate change and marine ecosystems. EMSO offers data and services to a large and diverse group of users, from scientists and industries to institutions and policy makers. It is an extraordinary infrastructure to provide relevant information for defining environmental policies based on scientific data. EMSO is a consortium of partners sharing in a common strategic framework scientific facilities (data, instruments, computing and storage capacity). Formally it is a European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC), legal framework created for pan-European large-scale research infrastructures.

The Internet and Communication Policy Center (ICPC) is a Research and Policy Center at the University of Salerno. It focuses on the policy dimensions of the Internet and communication, addressing some of the most relevant and strategic transformative processes and issues of our time from various perspectives and research lines. Its mission is to collect and exchange theoretical approaches, methodologies, analyses, and data concerning public policies and private practices impacting the Internet and media governance ecosystem. As an interdisciplinary research center, ICPC gathers scholars from a wide range of academic disciplines, including political science, social science, economics, law, linguistics, information sciences, and communication and media studies. The Center aims to investigate Internet and Communication policies at the intersection of law, technology, norms, and markets. The Internet and Communication Policy Center, through seminars, workshops, publications, online resources, and shared databases, aims to better understand the ways States and non-State actors interplay in defining, configuring, and shaping Internet and communication systems worldwide. The ICPC further seeks to promote cooperation between academics, innovators, policymakers, and businesses, in order to establish the scientific foundation for policy, legislation, and regulation to address Internet and Communication. The ICPC aims to make a contribution toward sound political choices on the future of the Internet through research, policy advice, capacity-building, and debate.

Internal Combustion Engine Group, Politecnico Di Milano

The Internal Combustion Engine Group (ICE Group) is one of several programs at the Dipartimento di Energia of Politecnico di Milano; seven faculty members, plus several non-permanent Researchers (Graduate Research Assistants, Ph.D. students and Post-Docs) work together for research projects, advise graduate students, teach courses and write technical/scientific papers and textbooks based on their activities. The group activities focus on the study of combustion, propulsion systems and energy systems; fundamental research involves the study of gasdynamics, combustion and pollutant emissions, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, sprays, chemical kinetics, noise reduction. Models are implemented in advanced one-dimensional (GASDYN) and multi-dimensional (LibICE under the OpenFOAM(R) technology) fluid dynamic numerical codes for the finite volume solution of complex flow problems. Developed codes and libraries are applied to improve the understanding of physical phenomena and to guide the experimental activity of engine designers towards promising configurations, in order to shorten optimization, development and prototyping times of new internal combustion engines. The mission of the ICE Group is to provide industry and research labs with opportunities to participate in original, leveraged research in focused thrust areas. The ICE Group also provides educational opportunities for graduate students, and therefore it is an excellent source of potential employees for companies.
