Unione Giornalisti Italiani Scientifici

Nata nel 1966 a Milano, UGIS- Unione Giornalisti Italiani Scientifici è un'associazione senza scopo di lucro, giuridicamente riconosciuta e indipendente, che è in sinergia con i propri organismi di categoria, con enti, università, istituzioni pubbliche e private. Porta avanti da decenni una mission sulla comunicazione e divulgazione della cultura scientifica e del mondo della ricerca ai colleghi, al pubblico e alle giovani generazioni organizzando conferenze, corsi, laboratori e congressi; premi giornalistici e borse di studio; viaggi a importanti centri di ricerca in Italia e all’estero. Nel 1971 è stata tra i fondatori di EUSJA European Union for Science Journalists' Association; è anche membro della World Federation of Science Journalitsts e dal 2011 è federata a FAST Federazione delle associazioni scientifiche e tecniche. l'Unione è impegnata nei corsi in tutta Italia per l'aggiornamento professionale del C.N.O.G. Consiglio Nazionale dell'Ordine dei Giornalisti: sull'informazione scientifica, sanitaria, tecnologica e sulla deontologia fornisce strumenti e metodologie utili a tutti i colleghi, non solo specializzati, che si trovano ad occuparsi di una notizia scientifica. Con questo spirito è nato nel 2018 il Manifesto di Piacenza di UGIS (in collaborazione con l'Ordine dei Giornalisti dell'Emilia-Romagna). Il C.N.O.G. ha integrato infatti anni fa l’art 6 del “Testo unico dei doveri del giornalista” anche con lo stimolo dato dalle indicazioni del Manifesto di Piacenza. Il Testo unico - in vigore fino al 31 maggio 2025 - è entrato a far parte delle Carte e dei documenti che hanno segnato l’evoluzione culturale e la storia della deontologia professionale. Continuano le sinergie con l’Ordine dei Giornalisti nell'ottica del nuovo Codice deontologico delle giornaliste e dei giornalisti (in vigore dal 1̊ giugno 2025). UGIS tiene anche lezioni per ricercatori, dottorandi e studenti universitari nell'ambito del rapporto con i media e con il pubblico.

Cnr-Iccom

The Institute of Chemistry of OrganoMetallic Compounds (ICCOM) of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) was established in 2001 following the merging of the Institute for the Study of Stereochemistry and Energetics of Coordination Compounds (ISSECC) of Florence, founded by Luigi Sacconi in Florence at the end of the 70’s, with three CNR Centers located in Florence, Pisa and Bari. ICCOM's mission is to contribute with innovative solutions to national and international research in the Strategic Research Areas such as Green Chemistry, Chemistry and Energy, Advanced Materials, Chemistry for Life Sciences, Chemistry for Cultural Heritage, Computational Chemistry. In June 2023, the ICCOM staff, in the three sites of Sesto Fiorentino CNR Research Area, Pisa CNR Research Area and at the Bari site located in the Department of Chemistry of the University of Bari, included 69 researchers, 2 technologists, 19 laboratory technicians and administration personnel, together with 28 University Associates and 30 among PhD students, postdoctoral fellows and grantees. Currently, to CNR-ICCOM is also associated the Trieste Third Parties Research Unit (URT) located in the Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Science of the Trieste University Campus.

Department Of Chemistry, Materials And Chemical Engineering Giulio Natta - Politecnico Di Milano

The Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering "Giulio Natta" was founded in 2001, with solid foundations and with skills to face all the engineering challenges that involve the correlations between the molecular aspects of the material and the application characteristics of the products. The CMIC's common vision is that the sciences and technologies of chemistry, chemical and materials engineering, and life sciences significantly contribute to identifying safe, cost-effective and sustainable solutions to current challenges in multi-disciplinary fields such as industrial processes, civil and industrial security, energy, health, the food sector, the environment and renewable resources. The disciplines that characterize CMIC are the basis of technological development in many sectors of industrial importance, including manufacturing, energy, health and safety. The Department has a long tradition of funded research and relationships with technology transfer companies. More than 30 research groups operate in CMIC, divided into the following Sections- Chemistry - Biological Engineering - Chemical Engineering - Science and Engineering of Materials

Dhitech Scarl

The Apulian District of High Technology (DHITECH) is a non-profit consortium embedding enterprises, universities and public / private research organizations. Dhitech acts as an Intermediary of Knowledge (IoK) organization aimed at promoting and facilitating the development of the Apulian Ecosystem of Innovation. Dhitech mission is to promote joint activities between research centres – companies – financial institutions aimed at: i) realizing know-how / technology transfer processes, ii) supporting the emergence of new high-tech enterprises, training young researchers adopting a particular educational approach to stimulate their entrepreneurial attitude and develop their innovation mindset, and iv) communicating and disseminating the culture of technological innovation within schools. Medical Trials Analysis (MTA) Group is a comprehensive CRO providing a full range of services for clinical trials, clinical research and medical education linked to clinical research. MTA's mission is to provide services aimed to FOCUS, harmonize the entire trial management process and to SPEED the INNOVATION in MEDICAL SCIENCE toward the delivery of any new therapeutic treatments and intervention that will improve patient quality of life. The key feature of MTA is the distinctly scientific matrix and its strong link with the academic and research environments. Acquacoltura Yabby

Aquaculture Yabby is an aquaculture experimental facility located in Fiumefreddo, one of the most enchanting places in Sicily. Alfio Girgenti, CEO of Aquaculture Yabby, with his wife, Rosaria Salvo, had the idea to import two exotic crayfish species Cherax destructor (Yabby) and Cherax quadricarinatus (Redclaw) in Sicily. The Sicilian warm weather creates the perfect conditions to successfully grow these species. The facility includes a nursery area furnished with artificial shelters for the hatched juveniles and circular tanks and ponds for the grow-out phase. The Aquaculture Yabby hub that is currently in collaboration with the University of Palermo (Unipa) is expanding and new technologies, photovoltaic screens which creates synergy between solar power and farming, are in the process to be installed.

The Center Altreitalie on Italian Migration was founded in 2005 as a continuation of the activities carried on by the Giovanni Agnelli Foundation since the eighties. The Altreitalie Centre is a place of transnational research, meeting and cultural cooperation on Italian migrations. Archivio della Memoria (AdM) is a cultural association founded in 2002 that carries out historical, anthropological and sociological research activity in social and cultural fields, to bring to light document and give value to local culture, traditions and knowledge. AdM operates both in urban areas and in small towns, in Italy and abroad, actively interacting with local communities, especially those characterized by marginalization and social disadvantage, developing best practices in the field of qualitative and quantitative research, in visual documentation and lifelong learning, organizing educational projects either for adults or children and young people in the subjects of its competence. From 2005 ADM is part of the Science Park University of Rome Tor Vergata, an umbrella organization that embraces 30 companies specialized in research, training and dissemination of scientific and cultural knowledge. ADM is actually working with local authorities like Lazio Region, Municipalities, public Universities in Rome, with several Natural Parks of Lazio Region, with the Ministry of Culture and with many schools in various fields like education, culture, tourism, found rising, marketing planning, ICT, new media and traditional communication, international cooperation. In order to promote education and training using new technologies ADM has created the Tor Vergata University of Rome Web TV, the Regenerative Surgery Web TV, the Italian Science Parks Web TV. C2i - Centre For Innovation And Entrepreneurship

The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (C2I) is an interdisciplinary and interdepartmental center, jointly set-up by the Department of Information Engineering (DII), the Department of Industrial Engineering and Mathematical Science (DIISM), the Department of Management (DIMA), the Department of Economics and Social Sciences. The research activities of C2I are centered on entrepreneurship and innovation.
