Runde Environmental Centre
Runde Environmental Centre is an international research station, an exhibition space, and a meeting place for courses, seminars and conferences. The centre is located in a protected and an ecologically fragile area, and therefore has been built so that it has minimal impact on the surroundings. The idea behind the centre is to provide an infrastructure for monitoring, to conduct research on the environment and to promote sustainable technology for fisheries and energy production. One focus area is to work with the local industry to develop environment friendly technology. The centre is also used by Norwegian and foreign researchers. It is a goal to raise awareness about the nearby ocean areas, which are some of the most important spawning areas within Norwegian waters. The centre has offices, a laboratory and eight apartments for rent. The main building has an auditorium and a restaurant. The exhibition area is located upstairs in the main building.

Stiftelsen Industrilaboratoriet
Stiftelsen Industrilaboratoriet (ILAB) er et oppdrags-laboratorium innen fiskehelse og akvakultur lokalisert på Marineholmen, nær Bergen sentrum. Vi har mer enn 30 års erfaring i å drifte avanserte våt-laboratorier med tilhørende infrastruktur og konsesjoner. Vårt fortrinn er at kundene kan få gjennomført fiskeforsøk med høy kvalitet og sikkerhet i godkjente laboratorier, midt i en storby. Vi er kjent for å være fleksible og tilpasser så langt det er mulig både forsøksoppsett og forsøksbetingelser etter kundens ønske. Vår egenproduserte forsøksfisk (laks) røktes i klekkeriet og yngelhallen med gjennomstrømmende ferskvann før den flyttes til RAS-anlegget for tilvekst. Den største andelen laks er klar til å settes inn i forsøk når den er mellom 20 og 30 gram, men det gjøres også forsøk på post-smolt og andre fiskearter. ILAB selger egenprodusert lakselus (LsGulen) i alle stadier, fra eggstrenger til voksne lus. Vi selger både til andre forsøksfasiliteter i inn- eller utland og til forsøk ved ILAB. FoU-avdelingen tilbyr fleksible løsninger i forhold til hvilke agens eller andre problemstillinger kunden ønsker å undersøke. Vi er behjelpelige med forsøksdesign, planlegging, gjennomføring og sørger for at nødvendige søknader skrives og at godkjenninger fra Mattilsynet er på plass før forsøkene startes.

Centre Of Molecular Inflammation Research, Cemir
The vision of the Centre of Molecular Inflammation Research (CEMIR) is to lay the foundation for identifying new therapeutic targets and developing new diagnostic tools for inflammatory diseases. This will happen through an integrated 10-year programme of research and research training in molecular innate immune responses. Inflammation is a host response that is triggered by infection and tissue injury. A controlled inflammatory response is needed to fight infections and to heal wounds, but it can become detrimental if it is dysregulated as seen in chronic inflammatory disorders like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, inflammatory bowel disease, obesity, cancer, and others. CEMIR was established at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, NTNU, in 2013 as a Centre of Excellence (SFF) appointed by the Research Council of Norway.

FME NorthWind works to turn wind R&D into a profitable export industry that creates green jobs and respects nature. The research will address the grand science and engineering challenges to realize the full potential of the wind energy sector in a sustainable future. The Centres for Environment-friendly Energy Research (FME) carry out long-term research targeted towards renewable energy, energy efficiency, CCS and social science aspects of energy research. The centres selected for funding must demonstrate the potential for innovation and value creation. Research activities are carried out in close collaboration between research groups, trade and industry, and the public administration, and key tasks include international cooperation and researcher training. Matrix - Norwegian Centre For Clinical Cancer Research
Matrix, the Norwegian Centre for Clinical Cancer Research, has an overall ambition has an overall ambition to extend the lives and improve the quality of life of patients with hard-to-treat cancers. The Centre is managed and coordinated from Oslo University Hospital and has partners and study sites across all four health regions in Norway. The Centre will develop precision diagnostics and treatment, and treatment that is adapted to molecular changes in tumors. Patient-centred care pathways will be developed, ensuring that the patient’s voice is fully integrated into the entire course of treatment. Matrix will collaborate closely with ongoing large national precision cancer medicine initiatives, national tumor groups, national initiatives in patient-centred care and the unique infrastructure for clinical trials to facilitate development and implementation of next-generation cancer care. The Research Council of Norway and the Norwegian Cancer Society are funding the Centre.

Nephroreduce
This is a project led by the University of Bergen and funded by The Norwegian Seafood Research Fund (FHF). Kidney stones (often referred to as nephrocalcinosis) is currently one of the largest welfare issue in land-based salmon farming (The Norwegian Fish health Report, 2022). The overall goal of the project is to better understand how the salmonid kidney respond to changes in the rearing environment and how such changes may result in the formation of kidney stones. Result from the project may help farmers better understand the range of triggering factors associated with development of kidney stones. The project aims to develop preventive measures and provide “best practice” to the industry for overall reduction of kidney stones, thereby improving fish health and welfare. The project has the following sub-goals: 1. Determine what factors in water quality, feed and fish handling practices (e.g. transfer protocols) that may affect the prevalence of kidney stones. Experimentally test our hypothesis regarding the proximate trigger mechanism (e.g large drops in CO2 levels) that initiate and may cause the formation of kidney stones. Integrate the macroscopical score performed at the facilities to histological findings, x-ray imaging and ultrasound to develop a universal scoring system for farmers. Determine physiological and molecular changes in kidney, urine and blood (e.g molecular transporters and biochemical analysis) of healthy fish and kidney stone afflicted fish 5. Test preventative measures (feed and rearing conditions) to reduce and/or prevent the development of kidney stones. Provide “best practice” protocols to industry to reduce the prevalence of kidney stones. The project have several research and industry partners: The University of Gothenburg, The University of British Columbia, Nofima, Moredun Research Institute, Patogen AS, Skretting ARC, Aquaticode, Mowi, Cermaq, Lerøy, Hofseth, Osland, Hima Seafood and NCE Seafood Innovation.

The company's mission is to develop innovative and sustainable medical devices designed for professional care of patients treated for oral diseases as well as wounds on the skin and mucous membranes. Corticalis places a particular emphasis on developing and promoting alternatives to the use of antibiotics and antimicrobial agents. The increasing use of antibiotics contributes to bacteria and microbes becoming resistant to medications. Corticalis provides effective alternatives to antibiotics to help address this growing problem. The company currently offers ready-to-use products for the maintenance treatment of teeth and dental implants affected by gum inflammation.
