Iris As
IRIS AS is from January 1 2018 a part of NORCE (Norwegian Research Centre). IRIS AS (International Research Institute of Stavanger) is an independent research organisation founded in 1973 (formerly known as Rogalandsforskning). IRIS is engaged in basic and applied research, nationally and internationally, and combines research results with commercialisation of new technology. Unique test and laboratory facilities support our research activities. Focus areas are energy, marine environment and social science. Energy research covers petroleum, automated drilling and multiphase reservoir flow, increased oil recovery, risk in planning of drilling operations, new drillings concepts, carbon capture and storage (CCS), energy efficiency, gas, offshore wind monitoring systems, deep geothermal energy and biogas, natural gas, hydrogen. Environmental activities are concentrated around “Integrated marine environmental research” focusing on acquiring new expertise and the development of tools for reliable and cost effective marine monitoring in connection with ecosystem based management. A large part of the research relates to the environmental impact from industry, mainly the petroleum industry. Social science is related to policy making, development of work life and its adjacent institutions and readjustment and development of organisations and companies. Research topics include health in the work place, organisational security, technology’s impact on decision making and interaction in organisations, innovation, technology transfer, road safety and regions/regionalization.

Project Accsess
The EU Green Deal is a new growth strategy that aims at transforming the EU into a modern, resource-efficient, and competitive economy with no net emissions of greenhouse gases by 2050. The ACCSESS consortium is dedicated to realizing this strategy, as reflected in the project vision to develop replicable CCUS pathways towards a Climate Neutral Europe in 2050. The project concept is centred around this vision. This project received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 101022487.

Prosjektnorge
Prosjekt Norge er møteplassen der ny kunnskap om prosjekter utvikles. Det er et forsknings- og utviklingsbasert senter der de aller største prosjekteierne i landet møter entreprenører, rådgivende ingeniører og andre leverandører for å identifisere behov for forbedringer og ny kunnskap. Resulterende FoU-prosjekter gjennomføres i samarbeid mellom aktørene i næringen, forskere og konsulenter, med fokus på både utvikling av nye metoder og implementering og effektvurdering av disse i reelle prosjekter. Fra akademisk side deltar store, anerkjente fagmiljøer fra NTNU, BI, SINTEF, UiA og NMBU, som også bidrar til å legge til rette for deling og spredning av erfaringer og kunnskap på tvers av virksomheter og bransjer. Prosjekt Norge er en nasjonal arena for utveksling av erfaringer, bygging av nettverk og representerer et sterkt fagmiljø som fungerer som en ekstern referanse til virksomheters egen prosjektkompetanse. Prosjekt Norge er et forskningsbasert samarbeid med norsk næringsliv og forvaltning. Fundamentet i senteret er de organisasjonene som har gått inn som partnere og betaler en årlig kontingent. De ansatte i disse organisasjonene er kilden til og målgruppen for vår virksomhet. Aktiviteten skal markere norsk prosjektkompetanse og ligge på et høyt nivå i en internasjonal målestokk. Senteret skal samarbeide med toneangivende internasjonale organisasjoner og aktiviteter og skal bidra til å markere norsk prosjektkompetanse på den internasjonale arenaen. Senteret skal dekke alle typer prosjekter innenfor ulike bransjer. Dette omfatter BAE-prosjekter, olje/gass- prosjekter, programvareprosjekter, produktutviklingsprosjekter, forretningsutviklingsprosjekter, organisasjonsutviklingsprosjekter, etc. Hele livsløpet skal dekkes, fra idefase via planlegging til gjennomføring, igangsetting og bruk. Senterets målgruppe spenner fra store virksomheter og organisasjoner til små og mellomstore bedrifter.

Technology Centre Mongstad Tcm
TCM is the world's largest and most flexible test center for the verification of technologies for CO2 capture and a leading competence center in this field. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), carbon capture can contribute about 20 percent of the reduction in CO2 emissions that is necessary to prevent uncontrolled global warming. Testing and verification of technologies for CO2 capture is therefore a very important part of the solution to the climate crisis. TCM is located at Mongstad in Nordhordland, and the center is part of one of the most complex industrial facilities in Norway. TCM promotes carbon capture as a tool for a cleaner and greener future by bridging technology developers, science and industrial application of CO2 capture technologies. Our main task is to test, verify and demonstrate different technologies related to cost-effective and full-scale industrial CO2 capture. We also offer consultancy services for carbon capture projects. The aim is to facilitate the spread of carbon capture technology in various branches and industries. In this way, TCM is an important part of Norway's contribution in the fight against climate change. TCM participates in a broad international collaboration with relevant players on the development and commercialization of new technology, which is important for carbon capture and storage to have an effect against climate change. TCM has a high focus on HSE, and on maintaining a good, developing, and inclusive working environment. Center For Deep Sea Research
The Centre for Deep Sea Research was established in 2021 as a result of a generous contribution from the Trond Mohn Foundation. The center carries on the competences from the former Center for Geobiology (2007-2017) and K. G. Jebsen Center for Deep Sea Research (2017-2021). The centre aims at being a leading international institution and pioneer of deep ocean research. Our research activities focus on the coupling between geological and biological processes in volcanic, hydrothermal and sedimentary environments in the deep sea. As well, we investigate biological diversity in these environments, and actively participate in the discovery of new mineral and biological ressources in the deep seas. The center is constituted of researchers from a broad range of disciplines working tightly together to understand the complex deep sea environments and reach our objectives.

Fme Zen - Research Centre On Zero Emission Neighbourhoods In Smart Cities
The ZEN Research Centre is a national centre for environment-friendly energy research (FME). We develop solutions for future buildings and neighbourhoods with no greenhouse gas emissions. The centre consists of a consortium of partners covering the entire value chain: research institutes, local and regional governments, property owners, developers, consultants and architects, ICT companies, contractors, energy companies, manufacturers of materials and products and governmental organisations. Together, we develop nine pilot projects where we test new solutions and technologies for reducing carbon emissions in neighbourhoods. Together with our public and industry partners, we develop 9 test areas («pilot projects»), which are spread all over Norway. We also host the EU project syn.ikia. In addition, we test our research with cases.

Gigaccs
Building on 40 years of CCS expertise, the gigaCCS research centre, coordinated by SINTEF, advances global implementation of CCS at gigatonne scale through industry-driven research and by training the next generation of experts. Meeting emission reduction targets in Norway, Europe, and globally is not possible without carbon capture and storage (CCS). While a few full-scale projects exist today, their capacity is measured in millions of tonnes of CO2 annually – we need billions to reach a net-zero future. gigaCCS is an FME – a Norwegian centre for environment-friendly energy research – advancing CCS technologies to achieve this gigatonne-scale deployment. It is supported by the Research Council of Norway along with industrial partners and research institutes. gigaCCS builds on the success of FME NCCS (2016–2024) and FME BIGCCS (2008–2016).

Hcomet - Cost Action Ca15132
The main aim of hCOMET is to create a unified database of comet assay data in order to give definitive information on factors causing or preventing DNA damage that will help to reduce inter-laboratory variation and result in providing standard protocols for future studies, training schools, creation of cohort of skilled molecular epidemiologists for prospective human trial to test DNA damage and repair as predictive markers of disease and as a support to small and medium enterprises and companies that use comet assay. hCOMET is a network comprising researchers who are active (or intend to be active) in human biomonitoring with this assay. Results supplied by these researchers will be compiled as a single database representing an estimated individual DNA damage measurements. The pooled analysis will allow us to determine which factors (smoking, age, nutrition, sex, occupational exposure etc.) affect DNA damage, and to what extent. Fewer studies have included DNA repair capacity as an endpoint; we will collect what data we can and carry out a detailed review (or a pooled analysis if enough data). In addition, hCOMET will address the issue of inter-laboratory reproducibility of the assay by devising standard protocols, for both DNA damage and DNA repair measurement, coordinating ring studies to test these protocols, and offering training courses and exchanges, so that in future comparison of results from different studies will be facilitated. We will review applications of the assay to other human cell types and isolation methods (such as leukocytes obtained from frozen blood).

Hocloop Project
Geothermal energy has a large potential as a clean renewable energy source. The conventional technology is mainly based on heat extraction from hot permeable aquifers. Such aquifers are hard to find, limit the applications and imply high cost and risks. HOCLOOP project aims to mitigate this challenge by creating a circular by design environmentally friendly geothermal energy solution based on a horizontal closed loop. The HOCLOOP consortium has as a very ambitious goal: bringing sustainable by-design and fully circular solutions for the exploitation of geothermal energy.
