Clinical Neuroscience Laboratory

The Clinical Neuroscience Laboratory (CNL) focuses on investigating the consequences of brain injury and disease as well as the effects of treatment and neurorehabilitation by combining advanced neuroimaging and brain stimulation techniques with wearable sensor technologies, neurocognitive assessments, and clinical measures. At CNL we also have a special interest in investigating the neural correlates of cognitive control function, sleep and fatigue. This is motivated by the transdiagnostic clinical importance of these phenomena for patient outcomes across different neurological and psychiatric conditions.

Norsk Senter For Cern-Relatert Forskning Norcc

The Norwegian center for CERN-related physics (NorCC) supports Norwegian participation in long-term experiments at CERN, enabling Norwegian scientists to do frontier research in particle and nuclear physics. The primary objective of the research is to discover the nature of the Universe by answering fundamental research questions. What are the building blocks of nature? How do they interact? How did the birth and evolution of the Universe happen? How are heavy elements in the Universe created? The center also aims to train the coming generation of scientists and engineers, engage Norwegian industry for deliveries and collaboration, and facilitate technology transfer. We also want to inspire and nurture scientific awareness among the general public. Current NorCC member institutions are University of Oslo (UiO, host), University of Bergen (UiB), University of Agder (UiA), Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL) and University of South-Eastern Norway (USN).

Ciem - Centre For Integrated Emergency Management

Centre for Integrated Emergency Management (CIEM) is a multidisciplinary research centre at the University of Agder, Norway. The centre conducts research on how technology innovation can improve emergency preparedness and management. Bringing together researchers within information systems, computer science and social science, the centre explores how to effectively collect and integrate information from different sources to support decision-making in different stages of an emergency. CIEM’s aim is to contribute to societal resilience, by providing emergency stakeholders with improved technology and method support for secure and efficient operations. CIEM focuses on global, national and local research challenges, and has extensive collaboration with public agencies, volunteer emergency responders, industry, and research groups in Norway and internationally. The centre was established in 2011, and has since 2014 been appointed as a top priority research area at University of Agder. CIEM is active as coordinator and partner in several research projects funded by the European Union and national funding agencies, involving research in areas such as cybersecurity, community resilience, situational awareness, social media analytics, humanitarian logistics, augmented reality and sensor technologies.

NORSAR is an internationally recognized, independent, not-for-profit, research foundation within the field of geo-science providing advanced, innovative products and solutions to customers in the public and private sectors. NORSAR's objectives are as follows: • To conduct research and development in the areas of geophysics and geophysical software • To promote the application of research results for the benefit of the Norwegian society and Norwegian industry • To establish and further develop the professional competence of its staff within its areas of activity • To act as a Norwegian national resource center for verifying compliance with the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) NORSAR has its headquarters at Kjeller, North- East of Oslo, Norway. NORSAR's field installations are situated in Hedmark (southern Norway), Finnmark (northern Norway) and on the islands of Spitsbergen and Jan Mayen. A field maintenance section is located at Hamar. At the end of 2011, NORSAR had 46 employees of which approximately 65% are scientific personnel. NORSAR is at the forefront internationally regarding research and development of commercial software products and services in the field of seismic oil and gas prospecting. The software products are used by the leading E&P companies throughout the world.

Norwegian Centre for E-health Research was established in 2016. We are a leading centre for research and development in e-health and telemedicine. The centre collects, produces and disseminates knowledge the Norwegian health authorities need to develop knowledge-based policies within the e-health field. The centre has about 60 employees, and is situated in Tromsø in the North of Norway. The Norwegian Centre for E-health Research is an internationally known organization and is a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for telemedicine and e-health. Nordlandsforskning er det eneste samfunnsvitenskapelige forskningsinstituttet i Norge med både eierskap og hovedkontor i nord.
