Synteraction Formerly Nus-Hci Lab
The Synteraction (formerly NUS-HCI) lab was established in 2009 by Dr. Shengdong (Shen) Zhao. In the past decade, it has grown to be one of the most active HCI research centers in Asia. The lab has a wealth of experience in developing new interface tools and applications (i.e, Draco, won best iPad App of the year in 2016), and publishes regularly in top HCI conferences and journals (i.e, CHI, ToCHI, Ubicomp/IMWUT, CSCW, UIST, IUI, MobileHCI, etc.). The NUS-HCI Lab puts fostering the growth of its members as one of its most important goals, and adopts open and transparent policy for everyone to work together. We have an ambitious vision to fundamentally change the way we interact with technology through Heads-Up Computing - the next interaction paradigm, built on a wearable platform consisting of head, hand, and body modules that distributes the input and output capabilities of the device to match the human input and output channels. INTRODUCTION CIL was established as a university-level research institute at the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2009, in response to the growing need for international law thought leadership and capacity building in the Asia-Pacific region. Nus Institute For Functional Intelligent Materials I-Fim
Welcome to I-FIM: Pioneering Smart Materials and Innovative Research Established in 2021, I-FIM is a groundbreaking institute dedicated to Functional Intelligent Materials (FIMs). Hosted at the National University of Singapore, we are the sixth Research Centre of Excellence in Singapore, and the fourth at NUS. Helmed by Nobel-Prize-winning materials scientist Professor Sir Konstantin Novoselov and Distinguished Professor Antonio Castro Neto, our team of world-class academic investigators is embarking on a fresh approach to materials research. We are creating a library of designer materials and developing systematic mathematical descriptions, serving as the building blocks for FIMs. Through machine learning and robotics, we're designing FIMs for applications like neuromorphic computers, smart membranes, and more. 🤖 Our Materials Robotics Laboratory facilitates a tight integration of theory, algorithms, and data to synthesize materials with desired properties efficiently. We use reduced material components to create FIMs for specific smart applications, such as gas and liquid capture using 2D composite membranes for sustainable decarbonization, hydrogen production and water filtration, 2D-electrolytes for targeted drug delivery in cancer research and more. Our innovative materials extend to areas like life sciences, artificial photosynthesis, artificial neurons, and artificial tissues, enabling new possibilities in healthcare and technology. Centre On Asia And Globalisation
The Centre on Asia and Globalisation (CAG) was established at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore, in 2006. The Centre is dedicated to conducting in-depth research on developments in the Asia-Pacific and beyond. CAG’s mission is to provide accurate, independent, and high-quality analysis on issues of regional and global significance for academia, decision-makers, commentators, and the general public. The Geriatric Education and Research Institute (GERI) is a national research institute established in 2015 and funded by the Ministry of Health, Singapore. To enable older Singaporeans to live and age healthily, GERI conducts translational research on healthy ageing, with a focus on preventing functional decline and implementing integrated care.
