Maties Sport The Centre For Sports Leadership
Background: The Centre for Sport Leadership (CSL) is a unit within Maties Sport that inherited its research footprint from its predecessor, the Centre for Human Performance Sciences (CHPS) – a former academic centre within the Faculty of Science. Over time, CHPS's identity evolved as the world of sport did, and it worked more closely with Maties Sport and other divisions at Stellenbosch University. A new vision was implemented in 2014, necessitating the shift to the CSL. Mrs Ilhaam Groenewald, Chief Director of Maties Sport, and Professor Cora Burnett, Senior Research Fellow and Director of the South African Centre for Olympic Studies and Social Impact (SACOSSI), provide strategic leadership and oversight. Aim: The Centre aims to be proactive and strategically position itself and provide thought leadership within four key interrelated sectors, namely (1) The Sport Industry, Management and Leadership;(2) Sustainability Management;(3) Sport development;(4) Education and Training. Mission: The mission is to explore globally relevant sport-related foci and thought leadership integrated into the needs of South African and African society, particularly for vulnerable and designated groups. Strategic Focus Areas: The vision of the CSL is achieved through a strong collaboration with the Stellenbosch University, South African Centre for Olympic Studies and Social Impact (SACOSSI), Maties Sport, and internal and external partners. The strategic focus areas are: 1. Cutting edge research through global collaboration: The Centre has recently achieved the unprecedented feat of obtaining a commitment from more than 20 globally recognised scholars and practitioners, representing a diverse range of sport expertise. Internationalisation: focusing on inter-disciplinary and multi-country research and best practice initiatives aligned to the CSL's vision. This is in partnership with SACOSSI through multiple agreements and projects. Capacity building: Contributing to

Resep Research On Socio-Economic Policy
RESEP is a group of researchers in the Department of Economics at the University of Stellenbosch. It developed around a long-term research focus on issues of poverty, income distribution, social mobility, economic development and social policy. This was further stimulated when Servaas van der Berg in 2008 became the South African National Research Chair in the Economics of Social Policy, financially supported by the National Research Foundation (NRF). This led to further consolidation of research work in this area. Most RESEP researchers are full-time researchers or research students, though some are employed within the Department of Economics at Stellenbosch University, or even at other universities. Funding for RESEP comes from a variety of sources. The funds obtained from the NRF through the Research Chair and from other funded research is supplemented through research consultancies for various institutions, including government and international organizations such as the World Bank, Unicef, NGOs, private sector corporations, think tanks, etc.

The programme seeks to identify role models within the management of innovation and technology domains who have demonstrated their excellence in co-creating new workplace realities. Since its inception in 1991, tt100 has emerged from being merely an award function, to one where the adjudication process has moved towards gaining a quantitative and qualitative assessment of what drives the role models who have qualified from the adjudication process. The key drivers which determine the potential for these organisations to maintain and improve their competitive advantage are depicted in the TIPS framework, which is used to adjudicate entrant companies. Wits Institute For Social And Economic Research Wiser
Established by Deborah Posel in September 2001 WISER very quickly established itself as the pre-eminent interdisciplinary research institute in the humanities and social sciences in South Africa, and one of the most influential globally. The institute draws on a history of advanced interdisciplinary research at Wits that dates back to the late 1960s, but over the last decade, in particular, it has pursued five main objectives with distinctive energy and enterprise. These are: to foster independent, critical inquiry into the complexities and paradoxes of change in South Africa; to conduct this enquiry by drawing intensively on comparative international research especially from the African continent; to foreground the global theoretical significance of WISER’s research agenda; to combine aesthetic and social scientific analyses; and to provide an institutional space that strengthens the scholarly dialogue between South African researchers and academics in the rest of the world. In all these areas WISER has achieved very significant success. For many years the institute has succeeded in addressing both a local, popular audience interested in the post-Apartheid moment and a large global scholarly network. Since 2013, under Sarah Nuttall's directorship, and with generous support from Wits and outside donors, the Institute has grown significantly, shaping global and local audiences with an interest in the pressing political and cultural concerns of the Post-Apartheid and postcolonial era. For a detailed account of WISER's work on the training of the next generation of South African go to http://wiser.wits.ac.za/page/next-generation.
