National Institute Of Standards
The National Institute of Standards (NIS) is the Egyptian measurement institute and the custodian of the national standards traceable to the International System (SI) of units. NIS is the largest metrology body in the Middle East and Africa, and the sole representative of Egypt at the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM). NIS was established in 1963, and one year after signing the meter conversion. Since its establishment, NIS has developed and maintained the nation’s primary measurement standards and has been disseminating them to the end user with the highest possible accuracy. These primary standards underpin an infrastructure of traceability through Egypt and the neighboring countries to ensure accuracy and consistency of measurements. Through six scientific metrological divisions that comprise twenty scientific laboratories, NIS is able to deliver accurate calibration and measurements services and technical consultancies in many sectors such as trade and industry, health and safety, environment, agriculture, etc. One of the main roles of NIS is to conduct research activities aiming at finding new measurement techniques so as to meet the Egyptian demands and support different organizations across the country and the region in making the best use of measurements.

Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority - Eaea
The Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority (EAEA) has been established in 1955. It leads the national research and development in the basic and applied peaceful nuclear research. Egypt was the second in the African Continent, after South Africa, to build a nuclear reactor. The first research reactor (ET-RR-1), commissioned in 1961, is a Van de Graf type 4 MW reactor engineered and built by Russia. Another research reactor (ET-RR-2) is 22 MW open pool MultiPurpose Reactor (MPR) located at Inshas, 60 km from Cairo, engineered and built by INVAP from Argentina.

Sugar Crops Research Institute - Arc, Egypt
The Sugar Crops Research Institute began in 1913 as the Sugarcane section in the Department of Agriculture. In 1971, it became the Sugar Crops division within the Field Crops Research Institute, and then in 1983, the Sugar Crops Research Institute joined with the other research institutes in the Agricultural Research Center (ARC). Research work with sugarcane began at Mallawy and Mattana farms in Upper Egypt, with yield testing of some imported varieties of sugarcane. Later, research was gradually expanded to sugarcane, sugar beet and sweet sorghum breeding - especially after successfully inducing the flowering of sugar crops under local conditions- and then to improving cultural practices, plant protection and physiological and biochemical studies. The institute conducts research in various aspects of sugar crops and is actively involved in transferring knowledge to farmers and investors, for the benefit of all Egyptians. SCRI, in cooperation with national and international organizations, is striving to close the gap between sugar productions and consumption in Egypt.

GISR Institution for Survey Research is an independent non-partisan non-advocacy survey research center. The center aims at providing society with an accumulation of knowledge about people's opinions, attitudes, beliefs and behaviors gathered through various scientifically approved methods of data collection. The center serve decision makers at different levels; both the macro (national) and the micro (institutional) level in Egypt. GISR has a very high interest in promoting the importance of public opinion to help in public policy formulation, in addition to raising the awareness of both the public and decision makers at all levels of survey methodology and how to read and interpret its findings.Three of its main programs in this direction is- GISR academy: the first specialized academy that aims at providing the society with professional calibers in the field. It provides free and subsidized training to students and professionals. One of its most successful programs is the free summer training that it provides to students.
