Stellarialga Lda Aka Stellaria
STELLARIALGA Lda.(aka STELLARIA) is a nanno/micro SME based in Portugal. We focus on research and production of microalgae and cyanobacteria, for educational, research and diverse safe and sustainable commercial end-products, ranging from non-food (bioplastics, innovative textiles, and cosmetics) to functional food and beverages, and animal feed additives. We are also involved in algae-based cost-effective and efficient bioremediation plants for agro/industrial/urban wastewater treatment. Our microalgae collection includes the well-known Chlorella vulgaris, Haematococcus pluvialis and Nannochloropsis sp. And our top cyanobacterial strains are: Anabaena variabilis, Nostoc paludosum and Cyanothece sp. Samples of any of the cyanobacteria and microalgae from the S-ALGAE collection are available for sale for educational, research or commercial use. We are always seeking to be actively involved in R&I partnerships in view of project applications, and hope to be able to attract and secure new talent soon, to join a very small but highly dedicated team.

NanosatLab's goal is to create cutting-edge nanosatellite subsystems. Its mission is to promote and encourage technological advancement in space-related sectors, with a particular focus on small satellites. The institution brings together students, researchers, and professors who work together to strengthen the Portuguese space industry, particularly in the fields of intelligent antennas, digital radio, energy collection and storage in space, embedded systems, attitude and orbital control, structures and thermal control systems, propulsion, mission planning, space systems engineering, earth observation payloads, and ground segment. The ISTSat-1, a 1U CubeSat designed under ESA's Fly Your Satellite! initiative, is the team's major project. It will be the world's first spacecraft developed in Portugal and launched into orbit. Nanosatellites have a smaller budget and a simpler design than their larger counterparts. Furthermore, their project encompasses a wide range of engineering disciplines, making it the ideal platform for students to gain hands-on experience with a real and practical space project. The NanosatLab is a Taguspark-based IST laboratory that includes INESC-ID, IT, IDMEC, ISR, and IST associated in a consortium.

Marlo started its operations in 1997 under the name LogIT a.s.The business originated from EU projects in the area of transport and logistics, with a specific focus on issues related to Short Sea Shipping and door-to-door transport operations utilising waterborne transport. Marlo staff have participated in or led a number of EU projects: IPSI, TRAPIST, Advances, Marqual, MTCP, REALISE, PROMIT, INFOLOG, Themis, D2D, and FREIGHTWISE for DG VII/TREN, and ERAMAR, INTEGRATION, and CREATE3S for DG Research. Marlo’s business idea includes commercialising the results of RTD projects, and the company has been involved in establishing new businesses on the basis of EU research. Two examples of new businesses that have emerged form EU project where Marlo is involved are TTS Port Equipment in Sweden that was formed on the basis of concepts and technologies emerged from the IPSI project where Marlo management held the coordinating role, and Logit Systems that was founded by Marlo/LogIT in on the basis of the results form the INFOLOG project. Marlo’s expertise relates from cargo handling technologies and terminal operations to fleet management for shipping and ICT systems for logistics. in 200) Marlo establihed a daughter company in Karsruhe, Germany to strengthen its expertise in rail transport and intermodal transport using rail.

ÉTUDES TERRITORIALES CURIEUSES / CONCRÈTES est une structure d’appui et de développement de projets ayant chacun comme point de départ des enjeux de territoire. Aborder la complexité des espaces contemporains est un moyen de s'interroger sur les sociétés qui les modèlent. Chaque "couche" d'analyse permet d'enrichir la compréhension d'un monde où se multiplient les acteurs, les mobilités, et les tensions entre homogénéisation par la mondialisation et réémergences des identités locales. Ainsi, ETC interroge les marques, les discours, les traces, les récits, les aménagements du territoire, comme autant de traductions des orientations économiques, des choix politiques, des identités, des cultures, ou des savoir faires des acteurs qui les modèlent. ETC cherche a éclairer les enjeux actuels de la transformation et de l’aménagement des territoires en confrontant les idées et les projets portés par les différents acteurs, notamment ceux des habitants eux-mêmes. Chaque projet est l’occasion de développer deux volets complémentaires du travail d’ETC : l’un concret permet d'aborder les territoires par le prisme de leurs réalités sociétales et des tensions qui s’y manifestent, afin de comprendre la complexité des enjeux d’aménagement et de dégager des perspectives d’action pour une plus grande justice spatiale; l’autre curieux travaille à révéler les facettes poétiques, sensibles, ou atypiques des territoires, afin d’explorer la puissance des imaginaires qu’ils véhiculent. ETC collabore avec des ONG, collectivités territoriales, institutions gouvernementales, bureaux d’études, parc nationaux, laboratoires de recherche, … pour mener des diagnostics et des études, mettre en place des processus participatifs ou consultatifs, définir des stratégies d’intervention ou conduire des évaluations de projet.

INEB - Instituto de Engenharia Biomédica is a private non-profit association with the statute of public interest, founded in June 1989 by six institutions, including the University of Porto (UPorto). The Mission of INEB is to generate knowledge, by promoting research, advanced training and technology transfer in biomedical engineering. INEB’s Vision is to be an international reference in the application of integrated engineering solutions to improve human health. In the IBMC.INEB was granted the statute of Associate Laboratory by the Ministry for Science and Technology. In 2008 IBMC, INEB and the IPATIMUP formed a consortium – the I3S (Institute for Research and Innovation in Health). Transdisciplinarity is a distinctive feature of INEB. Integrative research, involving specialists in biomaterials, tissue regeneration, nanomedicine, bioimaging, medical signals, geoepidemiology, biology, and medicine has brought international recognition to the institute. About 140 persons work at INEB (47 PhDs and 55 post-graduate students). INEB is a dynamic institute with a large majority of young researchers (79% of researchers with less than 40 years old).
