Kolonel was launched in Oct 2021 by Shefalee Lucknauth and Preni Lilkunt (Chef Nik) who are both co-founders and siblings, living in the eastern region of Mauritius, in Mare La Chaux. Both left their jobs in 5 star hotels (LUX Collectives/Salf of Palmar) in 2021 to pursue their dream of having their own Pizzeria. In just one month of operation, the pizzeria created buzz on facebook and won the Peoples’ Choice Awards Mauritius 2021 in the category of Pizzeria.
