We love the fresh herbs, we respect the traditions of our ancestors – first teachers were mothers and grandmothers, we nurture nature and from it we take only the best. We love to play with the preparation of meals and/or refreshments in nature – we are surrounded by breathtaking baroque park Novo Celje, part of the eponymous mansion Novo Celje from the 18th century. We always have fun with our guests – in a relaxed atmosphere we create together with you and offer you- a la carte menu- tasting menus- business lunches and organization of events (conferences, meetings, courses.)- interactive wine tasting- private events (birthdays, baptisms, communions, weddings, anniversaries, post burial feasts.) … The restaurant was founded and designed by Gašper Puhan, academic designer and owner of several companies.

Baščaršija Etno Hiša is a family-run restaurant chain with 3 restaurants (2 in Maribor and 1 in Koper). The concept is a modern ethno-style restaurant with traditional Balkan cuisine and an artistic interior. In Baščaršija Etno Hiša we strive to delight every guest no matter the occasion - students coming for a quick lunch, a family enjoying their Sunday lunch, a young couple getting to know each other on a date, a group of businessmen relaxing after an important meeting and even celebrities coming to party after a performance in the city. The first restaurant was opened in Maribor in 2009 by Saša and Zekira, who wanted to offer the city of Maribor a quality restaurant with Balkan food and ambience. In 10 years, the restaurant on Poštna ulica has become an indispensable part of the city of Maribor. In 2020, after studying at the LSE and the University of Cambridge, their son Aljoša took over the family business with the aim of opening multiple locations throughout Slovenia. In August 2021, the new Baščaršija Etno Hiša restaurant opened its doors in Slovenia's main coastal city of Koper.
