Simonson Station Stores
Simonson Station Stores, Inc. is a family owned and operated chain of retail convenience stores and gas stations. Established in 1933, the original name used to be Simonson Cash Supply, which was primarily a lumber, hardware, and supply business started by Arch Simonson in Grand Forks, North Dakota. His father Nels Simonson ran a similar business operation around the Minnesota and Wisconsin area in the 1900s. As a part of Simonson Cash Supply, Arch sold petroleum products such as gasoline, fuel oil, and coal to his customers. Depending upon the amount of the customer’s purchase and/or the distance they traveled to get to him, Arch would give that customer a portion of the fuel purchase at no charge as part of a “Free Delivery Service”. Arch’s life ended prematurely in 1941 after a Northwest Orient plane crash in Fargo, North Dakota. After Arch’s death, his wife Carroll continued to oversee the business operation until their two sons John and Peter took over the operation of the business in the mid 50’s. John and Peter soon thereafter split the gasoline operation away from Simonson Cash Supply. They formed a new corporation, Simonson Station Stores. With this new corporation, John and Peter expanded the petroleum end of the business to eight stores throughout North Dakota during the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Together, they operated some of the most successful retail petroleum outlets in the region for over 40 years. Currently, Simonson Station Stores is being operated by Arch R. Simonson, one of John’s sons, that is committed to running a successful family business now and for the next generation of Simonson’s. As you can see, we truly are a 4th generation independent family owned business currently operating 17 stores across North Dakota and Minnesota. We are always on the look out for motivated individuals that are looking for careers and experiences that will improve their lives. We pride ourselves on being locally owned and operated.

Energy Marketers Of America
The Energy Marketers of America (EMA) is a federation of 47 state and regional trade associations representing family-owned and operated small business energy marketers throughout the United States. Energy marketers represent a vital link in the motor and heating fuels distribution chain. EMA members supply 80 percent of all finished motor and heating fuel products sold nationwide including renewable hydrocarbon biofuels, gasoline, diesel fuel, biofuels, heating fuel, jet fuel, kerosene, racing fuel and lubricating oils. Moreover, energy marketers represented by EMA own and operate approximately retail motor fuel stations nationwide, supply motor fuels to an additional gas stations and heating fuel to more than 5 million homes and businesses. The origins of EMA date back to 1909 when the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of the United States was formed. That group died out but in 1940 another national organization, the President’s Council of Petroleum Marketers Association, was formed. In 1948, that group became the National Oil Jobbers Council. In 1984, NOJC changed its name to the Petroleum Marketers Association of America (PMAA). In 2020, PMAA changed its name to the Energy Marketers of America (EMA) to reflect its growing portfolio of affordable, efficient, and environmentally friendly liquid fuels that are helping to reduce emissions while propelling Americans forward.
