Spqr Team
The SPQR Team is a team of students and researchers from the Department of Computer, Control, and Management Engineering Antonio Ruberti at Sapienza University of Rome, taking part every year in RoboCup Standard Platform League (SPL) competition, featuring teams of 5 or 7 humanoid NAO v6 robots taking part in autonomous robot soccer matches. The team is tasked with the formation of students through hands-on practice on the programming of humanoid robots, modeling the soccer team as a multi-agent system, dealing with complex problems in the field of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, usually ending up in the realization of a Master Thesis project in the RoboCup SPL setting. SPQR Team has been involved in RoboCup competitions since 1998 in different leagues and is currently taking part yearly in the SPL league tournament. The team also took part in several instances of the Maker Faire - Rome Edition and Maker Faire - European Edition with a dedicated exposition space featuring a regulamentary RoboCup SPL field with live matches, organizing tournaments with other teams from abroad. SPQR team members published a total of 22 papers in RoboCup Symposia, in addition to other RoboCup-related publications in International Journals and Conferences in AI and Robotics.
