Collectif Handicaps New-Caledonia

The "Collectif Handicaps" is a unique place for information on rights for persons with disabilities, their family, private and public actors, and a place to connect the sector throughout the territory. It's regularly solicited by private/public actors, individuals and professionals to identify the institution, expert, professional (or other actor) likely to meet any need related to disability or dependency. Created in April 2004, the Collectif Handicaps is also a group of organisations of persons with disabilities (OPD's) and individual members, representing people with disabilities and dependencies, their families and caregivers. The association’s specific mission is to promote the rights of persons with disabilities and its goals include- To be a privileged interlocutor of the public authorities for all general, ethical and legal issues related to disability or dependency- To support the implementation of the existing legal framework- To represent persons with disabilities and dependencies, and member associations of the Collectif Handicaps, in all institutional commissions or organizations- To ensure a mission of information, vigilance and foresight in disability policies- To inform and raise awareness about disability and its diversity- To offer vocational training to promote the management of disability and addiction.
