Canadian Football League
The CFL is a proudly Canadian professional football league played in nine major cities across the country. Its teams are deeply rooted within the communities in which they play, and the entire CFL prides itself on being the most accessible professional sports league in North America. In 2012, the CFL celebrated the 100th playing of the Grey Cup, its championship game and Canada’s largest single day sporting event, with thousands attending in person and millions more watching on TV each year. The CFL is steeped in tradition, uniquely Canadian and built for the future. In 2013, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers opened a brand new state-of-the-art stadium, while in 2014, new stadiums will open in Hamilton and Ottawa, as the league expands to nine teams and CFL football returns to the nation’s capital. The 2014 season also kicks off the first year of a comprehensive broadcast deal with TSN and RDS that will transform the economics of the league and its teams. These major initiatives and accomplishments combined with having the most passionate and loyal fans in professional sports, positions the CFL for a very bright future. Canoe Kayak Canada is a member-based organization which includes an intricate network of clubs as well as provincial and divisional paddling associations for the disciplines of sprint, whitewater and marathon. Elite National Teams proudly represent Canoe Kayak Canada at various competitions around the globe – most notably the Olympic Games, Pan American Games, ICF World Cups as well as Junior, Under 23 and Senior World Championships. Canoe Kayak Canada is recognized by its partners at the International Canoe Federation, the Canadian Olympic Committee, the Canadian Paralympic Committee and Sport Canada as the designated authority for the sport in Canada. HISTORY Canoe Kayak Canada was founded in 1900 as the Canadian Canoe Association. With early ties to the American association, the Canadian Association broke apart on its own as it took a great focus on war canoe racing. The war canoe remains a uniquely Canadian boat and a staple of the club system. In 1936, sprint paddling was introduced to the Olympic Games and Francis Amyot won Canada’s first gold medal. Since then, Canoe Kayak Canada has continued to excel internationally. Having won 24 Olympic medals, it is one of Canada’s most successful summer sport organizations. The organization has had an enormous impact at the international level by championing initiatives to advance inclusion in the sport and has hosted several World Championships with great success. The sport has evolved and grown to include many different types of paddling. New events, clubs and champions have emerged over the years to continue a steady flow of stories with every generation of paddlers.

The National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA) is the labour union for the professional hockey players in the National Hockey League. Established in 1967, and with headquarters in Toronto, the NHLPA’s principal role is to represent the players of the National Hockey League and to guarantee that their rights as players are upheld under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. While the management of daily operations is the responsibility of the NHLPA Executive Director and the NHLPA staff of approximately 50 employees, the ultimate control over all NHLPA activities resides with the players, who each year elect representatives from the thirty-one teams in the league in order to form an Executive Board.

Okanagan Hockey Group Inc
Okanagan Hockey Group was founded by Larry Lund in 1963 in Penticton, BC Canada. Over the years, Okanagan Hockey Group became an icon in the hockey camp industry and has grown today to be the longest operating hockey camp in the world. Over the 50 plus years, Okanagan Hockey Group has operated camps in Canada, United States, Mexico, Japan, Hong Kong, United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, England, Scotland and Denmark. In this time period, the camp in Penticton has hosted players from over 30 different countries. The camp has had hundreds of former and existing NHL players attend over the years as players or as on ice instructors. In 2002, Okanagan Hockey Academy was established as the first hockey specific sport school recognized by BC Hockey and Hockey Canada. OHA has been built on experience, knowledge, and passion for our game. OHA in Penticton started with one team and has now expanded to seven teams. In 2008, OHG expanded its operations to St Polten, Austria and then in 2012 to Swindon, England in the UK. OHA’s success can be seen in the long list of players who have moved on to play at the WHL, Junior A, University and International levels. With the vast amount of knowledge and incredible network throughout our staff, our athletes have the inside track to move on to the next level. In 2014 OHG and the WHL partnered to establish the WHL Combines. WHL Combines is a specially designed on and off ice testing system, that allows athletes to establish baseline results and then continue testing against the baseline. Players as well as parents have found the combines to be extremely helpful to the athlete, as results can then be used to make adjustments to one’s own training and development, as well as be compared to other athletes within the database.
