The Wingate Institute, the national institute for excellence in sports of the State of Israel, is named after the British officer Charles Orde Wingate. It has opened its gates in the year 1957 as Israel’s main institution for sports education with goals to train physical education teachers, coaches and instructors, organization of recreation camps, physical education to new immigrants, research, information, and promotion of popular sports in Israel. The Israel Football Association (IFA) is the governing body for all organized football activities in Israel, including around a thousand teams all over the country. Founded in 1928, the IFA has always been a proud FIFA member, and in 1994 was accepted into the ranks of the European football community as a full UEFA member. Maccabi Haifa Fc
Maccabi Haifa football club, also known as the "Greens", was founded in 1913. The club won 15 times the Israeli Premier League Championship and 6 times the state cup finals. In 1992, the club became Israel's first club to be under private management, owned by Jacob Shachar. Since then, Maccabi Haifa has upgraded dramatically, created new managerial standards and became the most popular football club in Israel. In 2002-2003 season the club had qualified for the first time in Israel's history, to the UEFA Champions League. In 2009-2010 season the club had qualified for the second time in UEFA Champions League. The club had qualified twice to the group stage of the European League, and also reached the European Cup quarter-finals. In 2022-2023 season the club had qualified for the third time in UEFA champions League, the first Israeli club that do it for the third time. Maccabi also operated a youth department that has over participants registered with ages that range from 8 to 18. Almost each age group at the youth department keeps winning national titles every year while the best and brightest players are living the dream by finally integrating at the senior professional squad of Maccabi Haifa.

The Olympic Committee of Israel is the supreme body uniting all Olympic sports in Israel and is recognized by the International Olympic Committee as the National Olympic Committee of Israel. Founded in 1933 as the Palestine Olympic Committee, it received recognition from the IOC a year later. In 1951, it was reestablished, and in 1952, it was officially recognized by the IOC. That same year, Israel sent its first delegation to the Helsinki Olympic Games. The primary role of the Olympic Committee of Israel is to organize the participation of Israeli athletes in the Olympic Games and other multi-sport events under the IOC's auspices, while overseeing their preparations. The committee has the exclusive authority to decide the composition of Israel's delegations for both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games, for senior and youth athletes. Since the Helsinki 1952 Games, Israel has participated in every Summer Olympic Games, except for Moscow 1980, where it joined the American-led boycott. Since 1994, Israel has regularly participated in the Winter Olympics. In 2010, Israel also participated in the first-ever Youth Olympic Games in Singapore. Israeli athletes have won 20 Olympic medals: 4 gold, 6 silver, and 10 bronze.
