The Lithuanian Football Federation (LFF) is the governing body of football in Lithuania. The Federation is responsible for football development in the country and for the national teams, including the Lithuania national football team. It is based in Vilnius. LFF became a member of FIFA in 1923, but following Lithuania's annexation by the Soviet Union it was disbanded. It became a member again in 1992 after Lithuania became independent.

Champions of the Lithuanian National Championship RYTAS VILNIUS (formerly Statyba, Statyba–Lietuvos rytas, Lietuvos rytas) is a professional Lithuanian basketball club located in Vilnius. The history of the club began in 1964. Today it consists of the main team and two youth teams and basketball academy. RYTAS VILNIUS is a representative basketball team of the capital, the main goal of which is to honorably represent the city in European and national leagues. RYTAS Club Youth Program includes: RYTAS-2 VILNIUS - plays in the National Basketball League. Basketball players such as Jonas Valanciunas, Deividas Sirvydis have worn the shirts of the club founded in 2003. RYTAS-MRU VILNIUS - the youngest team of Rytas pyramid, which competes in the Regional Basketball League. RYTAS Club closely cooperates with Rytas Academy, Vilnius Basketball School (VKM) and Capital Basketball School (SKM).

Lithuanian Basketball League Lkl
Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL) has been founded in 1993. It was the first professional sports organisation in Lithuania. At the moment LKL is made up of 10 teams and is a member of the Lithuanian Basketball Federation. Over the years LKL has established itself as one of the top 10 basketball leagues in the world. Some of the most notable players that have played in the LKL include: Arvydas Sabonis, Jonas Valančiūnas, Mindaugas Kuzminskas, Donatas Motiejūnas, Šarūnas Jasikevičius, Arvydas Macijauskas, who later on moved to play in the Euroleague and the NBA. In 2016 LKL started one of its projects called LKL Academy, which offers a unique opportunity to gain experience working in the sports industry. Interns or so-called students of the academy are involved with LKL projects in marketing, communication and event organisation. Students are also awarded scholarships and many go on to work in the sports industry. In 2017 LKL started another project, to address the important social issues by working with clubs, players and youth-serving organizations that support family development, education and health-related causes. League aims to continue to raise the level of basketball in Lithuania alongside integrating technology and innovation. LKL games are available on LNK’s network and on fanseat.com for viewers abroad.
