Copenhagen Institute For Futures Studies
The Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies (Instituttet for Fremtidsforskning) is an independent, non-profit futures think tank – founded in 1969. We help people and organisations imagine, work with, and shape their future. The Institute was founded in 1969 by former Danish Finance Minister and OECD-Secretary General, Professor Thorkil Kristensen, with the support of visionary public and private organisations, to better qualify decision-making through futures studies and to contribute to the betterment of our society. That is our purpose. The Institute is today a truly global entity working with public, private, philanthropic, and academic organisations around the world. We act as an advisory, a publisher, an event organiser, and as an initiator of various future orientated joint-venture initiatives. The Institute is also configured as a community of sorts, offering memberships for organisations and individuals. We believe that, as the Institute itself, the future belongs to no-one and yet to everyone. We are by decree here to contribute to the betterment of our society, meaning better for the largest possible number of stakeholders. Our own definition of better is based on our perception of our Nordic values firmly rooted in trust, equality, openness, integrity, and inclusiveness, and a society where critical decisions about the future are based on insights, not intuition. Our research within futures studies is essentially about spotting initial signals, identifying patterns, and convert analysis into insights about potential futures. The Institute does not predict the future, this is of course impossible, but instead we generate the best possibly qualified assumptions for potential futures. All of the Institute’s profits are allocated to further futures studies and to realising our purpose.

Akademiet For De Tekniske Videnskaber
ATV - Akademiet for de Tekniske Videnskaber er en uafhængig, medlemsdrevet tænketank. Vi arbejder for, at Danmark skal være en af fem førende Science & Engineering-regioner i verden – til gavn for kommende generationer. ATV gennemfører ikke selv forskning, men skaber rammerne for andre. Som medlemsdrevet organisation har ATV særlige forudsætninger for at få konklusioner og anbefalinger implementeret og bragt i spil. Akademiet er en nonprofit organisation, og modtager som privat organisation ikke driftstilskud fra det offentlige. Medlemmerne arbejder pro bono, støttet af et sekretariat med 12 medarbejdere. ATV finansieres gennem faste årlige kontingenter fra akademiets partnere, som er nogle af landets største virksomheder, universiteter, GTS-institutter, organisationer og fonde. Lige nu arbejder ATV overordnet med fem temaer: • Digitalisering • Fremtidens produktion • Science & Engineering og uddannelsessystemet • Sundhedsteknologi • Bæredygtig teknologi, infrastruktur og energi ATV samarbejder med vores søsterakademier verden rundt både på et bilateralt plan, men også igennem vores medlemskab i de internationale organisationer hhv. den globale organisation CAETS og den paneuropæiske organisation Euro-CASE.

Sammen med dem får du i løbet af semesterkurset mulighed for at diskutere samfundets aktuelle økonomiske, politiske og kulturelle problemstillinger, mens du opnår et solidt kendskab til den borgerlige-liberale idéhistorie, økonomisk teori og politisk filosofi. Hvad forventer vi af dig? Som optagelseskrav til Akademiet skal du inden ansøgningsfristen sende os en personlig ansøgning, som indeholder en kort motiveret ansøgning, et kort essay samt karakterblad og evt. anbefalinger. På Akademiet tilbyder vi et højt undervisningsniveau og forventer, at du prioriterer forberedelse og deltager aktivt i holdets faglige diskussioner, dannelsesaktiviteter og workshops samt i dit holds sociale fællesskab. For at undgå forstyrrelse af dine studier og arbejde er undervisningen fordelt over fire weekender på hvert semester. Desuden afsluttes semesterkurset med et sommerkursus, der afholdes hvert år i august, hvor forårsholdet og efterårsholdet bliver undervist sammen. Hvor finder kurset sted? Bugging Denmark
Edible insects are the food of the future. They are sustainable, healthy, and they taste great. At Bugging Denmark, our mission is to gently introduce edible insects as an integral part of our culinary and cultural everyday life. To this end, we have established what is currently the country's only urban cricket farm, producing edible insects in the Northwestern part of Copenhagen. By introducing a simple but efficient setup for rearing insects we hope to establish a model that can be copied at communities and in homes all over the country as well as abroad. We believe that large-scale insect farming is part of our future food production. Rather than repeating the mistakes of the past, we aim to make insect farming as sustainable as possible as fast as possible. This entails using sustainable feed sources instead of more traditional, commercial feed. In the collaborative effort we have named the Urban Ecosystem, we are optimizing Insect farming to an urban environment by using the many hidden resources of the city to drive insect rearing. Thus, together with like-minded collaborators, we wish to convert what was previously considered waste products into valuable resources. As such, left-overs from beer and juice production are now being used as feed at our farm. The end-goal is to produce carbon neutral protein for human consumption. In Bugging Denmark, we wish to empower communities to take the challenges of sustainable development into their own hands. Instead of the constant dire warnings of the fast approaching foodapocalypse, we provide a set of simple tools to nudge our food consumption patterns in a more sustainable direction. As part of this outreach, we offer courses and give presentations on edible insects and insect farming. Edible insects pique our curiosity and stimulate our creativity, both in the kitchen and in our everyday lives. As a novel contribution to our society, they force us to reconsider what constitutes food and thus challenge some of the central dogmas of our society. Once one learns to question this particular dogma, one also becomes more prone to question other dogmas that were once considered set in stone. They open our eyes, force us to view the world with more flexibility and therefore hold the power to be a transformative power in society. Since insects are a new phenomenon in Western culture, no social class, ethnicity, religion or age group has a natural ownership over them. With edible insects, everyone starts out on an even footing. They are a generator of equality. We therefore use edible insects to welcome people from all branches of society into a green movement. Edible insects are a source of social as well as environmental sustainability and, until proven otherwise, we believe their potential is endless.

Virksomheden Krakas mission er, at tilvejebringe og formidle viden, der kan medvirke til at balancere hensyn og politiske beslutninger på tre områder: Individet, erhvervene og den offentlige sektor. Kraka producerer og formidler fagøkonomisk viden, som er af høj kvalitet og relevant for den samfundsøkonomiske udvikling i Danmark. Ovacure - Curing Ovarian Cancer Together
OvaCure - curing ovarian cancer together OvaCure is a scientific innovation incubator, accelerating curative cancer treatments in the fight against ovarian cancer. Non-profit. OvaCure's focus is on accelerating new treatments that have curative potential, and delivering treatment faster to patients. Each of OvaCure's projects are innovative and directly related to treatment of patients. Our method is unique, and we have congregated some of the world's Key Opinion Leaders. Our collective efforts can lead to significantly improved treatment possibilities for women with ovarian cancer. Why focus on ovarian cancer? For the majority of women with ovarian cancer today, there is no curative treatment. Ovarian cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer death in women in the developed world. Currently there are new cases of ovarian cancer diagnosed annually and women die each year from the disease worldwide. Of all women with ovarian cancer, 70% are diagnosed in an advanced stage (stages or IV), of which only 25% survive for more than 5 years. Unique collaboration with leading Key Opinion Leaders The OvaCure Scientific and Clinical Advisory Board has been established, which includes some of the most recognised internationally experts in oncology, immunotherapy and gynaecology. During the annual OvaCure Innovation Summit, the Advisory Scientific and Clinical Board work with the leading experts to develop innovative new projects with curative potential. The selected projects are then offered financial support. OvaCure is a catalyst for innovative international partnerships and projects OvaCure fosters strategic partnerships between leading international experts in medicine, research, government, NGOs and various foundations.
