President Kaljulaid Foundation
Together for Better Societies: Advancing Democracy, Empowering the Vulnerable, and Navigating the Societal Impact of Digitalization President Kaljulaid Foundation is a dynamic do-tank founded by former President of the Republic of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid championing three (plus one) focus areas: Building a Global Digital Society: Grounded in Estonia’s pioneering e-governance model, PKF is shaping the future of digital societies. Recent initiatives include an international conference on AI risks and strategic collaborations with leaders in technology and governance. Leveraging President Kaljulaid's expertise in this domain, we're now taking a hands-on approach to examine and explaining societal changes prompted by digital transformation. Advancing Democracy and Free Speech: With democracy and freedom of speech at its heart, PKF propels these principles via compelling dialogues and collaborations. President Kaljulaid is a valued speaker with international experience and insight into various forms of democracy-building and democracy-sapping initiatives. Empowering the Vulnerable: PKF stands firm for the vulnerable - women, children, and victims of domestic abuse. From 2021 to 2023, President Kaljulaid drove this cause as the UN Secretary-General's global advocate for Every Woman Every Child (EWEC). Since the summer of 2023, at the request of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, president Kaljulaid has taken up the task of leading a high-level UN panel on the teaching profession. And there is Ukraine – the plus-one topic we onboarded straight after the war struck in 2022. We have dedicated significant efforts to support Ukraine both politically and practically. Our initiatives include raising funds to bolster Ukrainian free media, equipping orphanages with computers to enhance access to remote learning, and advocating for political pressure on international platforms.
