Lyon Neuroscience Research Center - Crnl
The Lyon Neuroscience Research Center (CRNL), created in 2011 by INSERM, CNRS, the University of Lyon 1 and the University of St Etienne, brings together 450 people organized into 18 research teams and 10 technology platforms. With a very multidisciplinary approach, we seek to understand the functioning of the brain and its dysfunctions in different pathologies. From the gene and the molecule to the neuronal cell, from the neural network to behavior and cognition, we study the cerebral organization of perception (olfaction, hearing, vision, touch), the control of action, attention, memory, learning mechanisms, sleep and vigilance states, emotions and social interactions. The CRNL is also responsible for the Lyon NeuroCampus building project which, since February 2019, is bringing together all of its teams in the East-Lyon University Hospital pole, in the immediate vicinity of the Neurology, Mother-Child, and Psychiatric Hospitals. Thanks to this location in an exceptional medical environment, all new knowledge is rapidly transferred to clinical applications (understanding the pathophysiological mechanisms of neurological and psychiatric diseases, development of new diagnostic markers and of innovative therapies) and also to societal applications (neurosciences and education).

L'IFCT (Intergroupe Francophone de Cancérologie Thoracique) est promoteur institutionnel d'essais cliniques en oncologie pulmonaire. Les objectifs de l'IFCT sont :) Faciliter le développement de la recherche clinique, biologique et technologique ) Assurer la formation et diffuser l'information ) Favoriser des travaux d'épidémiologie et de prévention ) Promouvoir l'évaluation des pratiques L’IFCT se compose de 420 médecins investigateurs, répartis sur plus de 230 établissements de santé. L'IFCT est dirigé par un conseil d’administration (CA) de 11 membres élus. Le CA nomme un conseil scientifique. Son Unité de Recherche Clinique est composée de 15 salariés comprenant un directeur, un responsable informatique, un responsable pharmacovigilance, plusieurs attachés de recherches cliniques et un biostatisticien. L'IFCT trouve une place grandissante qui est logique dans une maladie qui est l’objet actuel d’une recherche clinique très active.

Interdisciplinary Institute For Neuroscience
Created in 2011, IINS brings together more than 140 scientists from diverse backgrounds to understand how of the brain in health and disease. IINS conducts multidisciplinary work involving chemists, biologists cell scientists, biophysicists and neurobiologists. They perform cutting-edge research in synapse biology and of the physiology of neural systems, by emphasizing emphasis on the development of new technologies and new tools. The Institute is among the leaders in the field of the dynamics of membrane molecules! We also aim to contribute to identify new therapeutic targets and develop new therapeutic strategies for neurological and psychiatric disorders. Currently studied pathologies include Alzheimer's and Huntington's diseases, epilepsy, intellectual disability and autism spectrum disorders. In addition, IINS is the support research unit for the Bordeaux Imaging Center, a core facility of service, training and R&D in cellular imaging of international stature to permit the transfer to the scientific community and industry of the imaging tools developed in IINS. The parent institutions of IINS are the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) and the University of Bordeaux. IINS is part of Bordeaux Neurocampus department of Bordeaux University that is home to around 650 neuroscientists. Founded in 2004, l’institut du thorax is devoted to patient care, research and higher education in cardiovascular, metabolic and respiratory diseases. From bench to bedside, our scope reaches from a basic research lab (Inserm UMR 1087/CNRS UMR 6291) to clinical department via a clinical investigation center (Nantes University Hospital). The CEISAM Institute ("Interdisciplinary Chemistry: Synthesis, Analysis, Modelling") encompasses all the research activities carried out in the area of molecular chemistry in Nantes and its surroundings. The CEISAM Institute is located on the Faculty of Science campus of the University of Nantes. The name of the laboratory reflects its positioning and its organisation into five research teams, enabling it to cover a wide range of activities. Their complementarity is illustrated through scientific coordination and the structuring of joint projects. These projects are implemented with the following thematic focus areas: the synthesis of organic molecules and hybrid materials, methodological developments in analytical chemistry, and molecular modelling deployed across three strategic interfaces: ‘Chemistry/Health’, ‘Chemistry/Molecular Photonics’ and ‘Chemistry/Environment’, which ensure cross-disciplinary cohesion. The originality and quality of developments in molecular chemistry have enabled our unit, on the one hand, to lead or participate in numerous national, European and international projects and, on the other hand, to establish partnerships with many socio-economic actors, including small and medium-sized enterprises and large international groups. Scientific output averages 120 publications per year. A dozen PhD theses are defended each year. The work carried out has resulted in the filing of some 30 patents, software programmes and databases. International cooperation is a constant feature of CEISAM's activities, which maintains ongoing relations with universities on five continents. The integration of high-level platforms and technical facilities provides the entire unit with essential support for the smooth running of research activities. This research could not be fully developed without master's, doctoral and post-doctoral students. CEISAM is heavily involved in training through and for research.
