St Brelade's College
St Brelade's College was founded in Jersey in 1978. It is the only English language school in the Channel Islands accredited by the British Council and a member of English UK. We offer English courses on the beautiful island of Jersey and online. Adult courses in Jersey include general English courses, 50+ programmes, English + golf and private tuition. Juniors have a choice of holiday, semi intensive, semi combination & English surf adventure courses. Accommodation can also be arranged for students, either in homestay, one of our charming student residences or local hotels and guest houses. Our newly refurbished adult residence, Peterborough House is located just 5 minutes' walk from the main school. The building is a former 17th century merchant house on a quiet cobbled street in St Aubin. In the harbour village, students can find restaurants, cafes, pubs, a supermarket, deli and post office. Due to our location on the stunning island of Jersey, our activity and social programmes include plenty of water sports, coastal walks, visits to local heritage sites and more. In April, we run an AccessTEFL trainee programme for individuals who are keen for the chance to start teaching but do not have a recognised level 5 TEFL qualification (such as the CertTESOL or CELTA).

History Alive
Jersey has the most fabulous history, layer upon layer going back not only hundreds of years, but also thousands of years, and to tell the stories of this colourful and interesting past, History Alive! brings a different product to the leisure and travel industry in Jersey by combining the personal service of a guide with both modern and traditional technology. Whether it is for individual visitors to the Island who want to get to know Jersey, or groups made up of either visitors or locals wanting a customised experience which is entertaining as well as informative, History Alive! has tours and activities to match. For an island some 10 miles by 5, with rugged coastlines of outstanding beauty, its pre-historic past is always only skin deep despite a modern and vibrant character and lifestyle. Neanderthal man used caves and other shelters up to a quarter of a million years ago and the first stone age farmers in the Neolithic period left their massive stone dolmens as a reminder the Island was settled probably some years ago. By using digital images and being able to handle artefacts from that period, and by exploring the sites, Jersey's history is brought alive. Jersey's more recent history, and indeed its character and status, has for the last 800 years been dominated by a military past after it found itself on the front line of a warring England and France (and in the 20th century, Britain and Nazi Germany). For most of that period, Jersey and the other Channel Islands were home to a British garrison and not only were the islands heavily fortified, but they also developed their own independence, laws, privileges and customs to make them what they are today. You cannot go anywhere around the islands today without seeing evidence of that military past layer upon layer. History Alive's mission is to bring that history alive.
