Since its establishment and up to today, Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) builds infrastructure, generates, transmits, and supplies electricity to 3 million customers. The company is traded on the Tel-Aviv stock exchange. The Company’s main activities take place within the State of Israel. It generates, transmits, distributes, and supplies most of the electricity used in the Israeli economy according to licenses granted by virtue of the Electricity Sector Law, 1996. Furthermore, the Company is a licensed essential service supplier (as defined in the Electricity Sector Law, 1996) and functions as constructor of the required infrastructure for the remainder of its activities. IEC owns and operates 15 power stations with 50 generating units: 16 steam-driven, 25 gas turbines and 9 combined-cycle units. IEC’s installed capacity stood at 13,955 MW. IEC supplies reliable and high-quality electricity, complies with leading service standards, maintaining economic, commercial and environmental principles. IEC employs 10,716 workers. Israel Electric Corporation is the largest supplier of electrical power in Israel. The IEC builds, maintains, and operates power generation stations, sub-stations, as well as transmission and distribution networks in Israel.
