National Water & Sewerage Corporation Nwsc
Established in 1972, the mandate of the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) as defined in the NWSC Act Cap 317, is to operate and provide water and sewerage services in areas entrusted to it on a sound, commercial and viable basis. Currently, the Corporation is responsible for the provision of water supply and sewerage services in 66 towns, spread all over the country, with a population of 3.6 million people. This represents 77% of the large urban centres.

Wana Energy Solutions - Wesgas
WANA Solutions Uganda Limited (WANA) is a Ugandan-owned company that markets and distributes Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), Electronic Pressure Cookers (EPCs), Solar Freezers and Solar Home Systems (SHS) to provide clean, affordable, reliable, and thermally efficient energy solutions. Founded in 2008, WANA aims to improve the lives of nearly 40 million Ugandans who depend on biomass for cooking by promoting LPG and EPCs as a Clean, Accessible, Reliable Energy (CARE) source for cooking. The company sells complete LPG cooking components, including gas cylinders, regulators, hosepipes, and gas burners, and uses mobile money technology for revenue collection. WANA delivers gas directly to customers' homes, with a customer base comprising 70% households and 30% businesses. The focus has shifted towards urban and peri-urban areas, employing women as replicators. WANA recorded its first revenues in 2010 with 45 households, currently growing to over households. The distribution model involves door-to-door delivery by a well-trained team providing after-sales services and troubleshooting. Revenue is generated primarily from gas refills (75%) and component sales (25%). Customers can opt for instalment payments or local bank loans for upfront or recurring costs. Employing 64 permanent staff, WANA operates nine branches and 20 points of sale in 36 districts across Uganda, including Kampala, Wakiso, Mpigi, and Mukono. The company's commitment to clean energy solutions has significantly improved Ugandan living standards.
