Richmond Park Estate

Richmond Park Estate crafts premium cool-climate wines and produces fine Tasmanian merino wool. Blending heritage and quality across both vineyard and farm. As custodians of the land at Richmond Park Estate, we're re-establishing a saltmarsh wetland that was previously degraded by colonial farming practices. The project, led by farmer Will Eddington, is restoring tidal flows by removing a levee, allowing natural regeneration of ecosystems, and creating habitats for wildlife like fish and birds. This work is part of a global effort to restore important wetlands, and the site is being registered under the tidal restoration of blue carbon ecosystems method to generate carbon credits with help from UTas and NRM South.

Our specialised vats rest 20 metres beneath the surface, where consistent temperatures, oceanic pressure, and natural currents create distinctive characteristics that are impossible to replicate on land. This patented process, developed in collaboration with French winemaking innovators Winereef, merges traditional expertise with maritime innovation. The outcome? Limited-edition wines that showcase unique flavour profiles expressing their southern ocean provenance with an elegant and exciting finesse. Subsea Estate stands as a groundbreaking contribution from Western Australia to global wine innovation, where nature's raw power shapes each vintage.
