About Abby Johnson

Abby Johnson photography, formerly known as AVG Photography, began in 2010. Abby Johnson Photography first started in Branson Missouri, moved to Seoul South Korea, then Norfolk Virginia and now Gainesville Georgia. In 2020 I captured my first birth. After I left, I called my husband and cried,"This is it!" I cried with excitement,"I want to do this for the rest of my life." I began capturing more births and started to gain some traction in the home birth community in North Georgia. The more births I attended, the more I felt called to become a Labor Doula. After becoming familiar with births, especially unmedicated labors outside of the hospital setting, I began studying birth outside the classroom. In 2023, I attended my first certification class to become a Professional Labor Doula. The hands-on training and experience of homebirth both first and secondhand was invaluable. My dream is to continue education to become a Homebirth Midwife after spending time as a Labor Doula. I believe every birth, every birthday, every family, every wonderful moment deserves to be captured.
