About Abigail Altman

Hi! My name is Abigail Altman, and I am a second-year graduate student persuing my masters in Child Life at the College of Charleston. I am passionate about supporting children's emotional and developmental needs through compassionate, play-based care in the hospital setting. On campus, I serve as a graduate assistant at the N.E. Miles Early Childhood Development Center, where I work as a kindergarten teacher, fostering growth and learning in a supportive classroom environment. This summer, I have continued my commitment to child-centered programming as a Child Life programming intern with Camp Rise Above, helping create joyful, adaptive camp experiences for children with complex medical challenges. Beyond academics and work, I am actively involved in the Charleston community through volunteer work with local organizations such as Bridges of Hope, Camp Rise Above, Camp Happy Days, and The Lonon Foundation. These experiences continue to deepen my dedication to Child Life and psychosocial support.
