About Abigail Cone

Driven by a passion for astrophysics research, I am an undergraduate physics student at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, set to graduate in May 2025. I am pursuing a concentration in Astrophysics and Astronomy to prepare for a career in space science research. Beyond my academic studies, I am a founder and secretary of the Women in Physics Group at UAH, working to foster a supportive community. I also serve as an Ambassador for the UAH College of Science, engaging with prospective students and outreach initiatives. During a National Science Foundation REU in Heliophysics, I analyzed data from a sounding rocket instrument in collaboration with NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, presenting a poster on my findings at AGU 2023. Additionally, I am a member of the Von Braun Astronomical Society, where I create public-friendly presentations on space research topics. Outside of research, I am a math instructor at Mathnasium, where I tutor students ages 6–18, helping them build confidence in their mathematical skills. With a strong foundation in physics, programming, and science communication, I am eager to contribute to future advancements in astrophysics research and public engagement in space science.
