I am a customer service and culinary professional with over 17 years in the grocery and retail industries, working for a store that services thousands of customers daily. During my time in the industry, I have been a natural problem solver- easily recognizing patterns and causes- proactively creating systems and improvements- and effectively investigating and resolving whatever issues have been thrown my way. I am also a strategic and empathetic team leader and a strong communicator who builds respectful, collaborative, and lasting professional relationships by- demonstrating care- garnering mutual respect with my team- and learning what motivates and captivates them, what they value, and what makes them tick. I enjoy being a leader because I like to develop and inspire growth in others. I love to collaborate and infuse their ideas into the bigger picture and use creative methods to move the team toward a common goal in ways that instill in them a sense of pride and purpose. This increases productivity and is a win/win situation that I find highly rewarding. Moving forward, I plan to channel my creativity, problem solving, and leadership abilities into other areas I am passionate about, particularly into the arena of natural resources, the environment, and forestry. I am a lover of trees and ecosystems and am constantly seeking ways to improve the conditions of the natural world around me. At a time when our natural communities are facing critical challenges and changing environmental circumstances, I believe that we need enthusiastic individuals to use their innate skills to work toward the biggest common goal of all, preserving the natural world, our home, for our children and the many generations to come!
