Merdeka Copper Gold's, Acid Iron Metal (AIM) project in Sulawesi, improves spent pyrite to produce 1.2 Mtpa sulphuric acid with by-products utilizing a chloride circuit: iron pellets, steam, gold, silver, copper, lead and zinc. Prior to Merdeka, I was positioned at LXML Sepon (Chifeng), supporting the design, construction and commissioning of the sulphide flotation plant and oxygen plant, in Laos as part of the conversion of the copper plant to process sulphide gold ores, utilising the Chinese Engineering and construction contractor's, BGRIMM and SinoHydro. Preceding LXML Sepon, Adrian was located in Beijing, China, supporting the Feasibility Engineering for the Kinsevere Copper Expansion project (in Democratic Republic of Congo) under contract via SMPThai for MMG. Education: Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and a Masters of Technology Management (Logistics) with over 24 years of experience in the metallurgical, minerals and alumina industries. For 7 years, Adrian worked for F.L.Smidth Minerals with responsibilities in sales, tendering, budgeting and project management of equipment in comminution (primarily SAG and Ball mills) for Australasia, including the construction coordination and support for the Tulawaka SAG mill in Tanzania, East Africa. Other responsibilities included coordination of material and equipment suppliers from South Africa, India, China, Indonesia and Spain, sales and project management in materials conveying and gas cleaners (baghouses and electrostatic precipitators), reporting to management in Australasia, Denmark, Germany and the USA. Previously working for Fluor, Adrian was initially adopted in Engineering design studies, later to be a package Engineer and PMC Area Lead for the above ground mechanical scope for the Cadia East project. Responsibilities on the Cadia East project included coordination of Engineering deliverables, preparation of Engineering tender documentation, procurement and reporting to the Mechanical Lead and Area Manager. Adrian was working at the Cadia site as the Project Turnover Coordinator, structuring the system turnover packages and coordination of documentation from each discipline; Commissioning, Site Engineering, Construction, Contracts and Quality teams, to meet contractual requirements for handover of Care, Custody and Control.
